    摘要: A method of determining a rotative position of an industrial roll includes: (a) providing a rotating industrial roll having a longitudinal axis, the industrial roll having mounted on one end thereof an accelerometer, the industrial roll further including a plurality of sensors; (b) determining a pre-trigger angular position of the roll based on a first gravity vector provided by the accelerometer; then (c) determining a trigger angular position of the roll based on a second gravity vector provided by the accelerometer, the magnitude of the second gravity vector differing from the magnitude of the first gravity vector by more than the magnitude of a typical noise signal; and (d) gathering data from the sensors after the roll has passed the trigger angular position; and (e) matching the data gathered in step (d) with a respective sensor of the plurality of sensors based on the determination of the trigger angular position.

    摘要: A device and method are provided for preventing a tool from breaking during fine blanking and/or forming in a press. The device includes a fine blanking head positioned above a ram that carries out a stroke movement. The fine blanking head includes, among other things, a main cylinder retaining a V-shaped projection piston, a touch piston, several V-shaped projection pins, a main plate covering the main cylinder and a touch table to which the tool can be connected. Pressure provided by a hydraulic system is introduced to the device in distinct regions. Gaps between certain device components are maintained and monitored for purposes of determining the undesirable presence of foreign objects in the press operating path. If a sensor determines that the gaps are not maintained then the computer which operates valves that supply the pressure from the hydraulic system will shut the press down.

    摘要: A vertically retractable door system for a stamping press includes a pair of vertical mounting plates having generally vertical opposing door guide channels with inwardly curved lower portions. A door with windows extends between the plates and includes support blocks enclosing bushings supporting rollers within the guide channels. Spring biased locking pins extend through a pair of the bushings into selectable vertically spaced holes within the mounting plates, and a rotatable latch handle is supported by the door and is connected to the locking pins by a drum and cable system for retracting the pins. The mounting plates have removable blocks within recesses extending from the channels to facilitate easy removal of the door, and enclosed counterweights are connected by cables and pulleys to the door to facilitate manual movement of the door between an upper retracted position and a lower closed position sloping downwardly and inwardly towards the press.

    摘要: The invention concerns a safety device on metal-forming machine tools, in particular on pneumatic pressing machines, used in the execution of short-stroke pressing processes, for preventing intervention in the danger zone during the tool working movement and unintentional closure movements. The machine essentially comprises a machine housing, a power-generating system, a control system and a tool arrangement with a fixed part and a movable part, and the actual metal-forming tool connected thereto. The object of the invention is the highly reliable prevention of injuries owing to inattentiveness in spite of hands' being left in the immediate danger zone. To that end, the safety device (8) consists of a lever-like part (9) which is disposed between a guide part (15) and a counter bearing (14), is connected both to the power-generating system (2) and to the movable part (4) of the tool (3), slides along the guide part (15) and co-operates with the counter bearing (14) such that each working stroke of the movable part (4) occurs in two stages, first as a stroke for moving into a predetermined position (20) and then as a power stroke for carrying out the forming process, which occurs only when there is no obstacle (25) in the space between the movable part (4) and the workpiece.

    摘要: An improved assembly apparatus and method of assembling workpieces together. The apparatus includes a drive linkage with a linearly movable ram for pushing one workpiece toward the other. The drive linkage also includes a rotatable drive train. In the improved assembly apparatus, a transducer is provided to determine the load existing in the drive linkage, and a resolver is provided to determine the stage of the assembly cycle. A programmable controller is used to correlate this information, and a device is provided for communicating a message related to the correlated information. The transducer may be a strain measuring device or a pressure transducer measuring the pressure in an hydraulic cylinder in the drive linkage. The communications device may be a visual monitor, alarm, recording device, or similar communicator. The system may include a data storage device to receive information on the preferred load or range of loads so that the programmable controller may retrieve this data and compare it to the existing load and warn of or record any undesirable deviation. In the method, the load in the drive linkage is determined, the rotational position of a part of the rotational drive linkage is determined, and this data is correlated and an appropriate communication is made. The apparatus and method may be useful in assuring that a preferred minimum load is applied during assembly for quality control.
