Abstract: A latch mechanism having a latch apparatus that is pivotally displaced about a latch axis and a cam device is that pivotally displaced along a transverse cam axis. The cam device is configured to operably engage the latch apparatus so as to at least assist in securing the latch apparatus in a locked position. When the latch apparatus is to be displaced to an unlocked position, the cam device may be pivoted about the transverse cam axis to a position in which the cam device does not impede with the pivotal displacement of the latch apparatus. The latch apparatus may also be configured to prevent the pivotal displacement of the cam device when the latch apparatus is in the unlocked position. According to other embodiments, the latch apparatus may be pivotally displaced about a transverse latch axis by the displacement of a latch link.

Abstract: A lever gate latch pull system with a pivoting Z shaped lever having a bent first arm with lever handle pivotally affixed to a fence post to pivot up and down. Opposite the first lever arm is a pivoting bent second arm affixed to a chain extending to and secured via a fastener to a gate latch pivotal latch lever. When the lever handle first arm is depressed, the second lever arm elevates to pull the chain up to unlatch the gate latch to open the gate. The lever handle is positioned usually just beneath the top of the fence, allowing a user to depress it from both sides of the latched gate to raise the chain to unlatch the gate latch; thereby enabling one to unlatch a locked gate without having to go around to unlatch the gate.

Abstract: A fenestration hardware assembly includes a blade socket including a blade recess and an operator interface feature rotatably coupled with an operator housing. A latch blade is movably coupled with the operator housing. The latch blade is movable between deployed and withdrawn positions. In the deployed position at least a portion of the latch blade is received in the blade recess of the blade socket. In the withdrawn position the portion of the latch blade is recessed from the blade recess. The operator interface feature is rotatable between at least locked and unlocked configurations. In the locked configuration the latch blade is in the deployed position and received in the blade recess. In the unlocked configuration the latch blade is translated from the deployed position to the withdrawn position and withdrawn from the blade recess according to rotation of the operator interface feature.

Abstract: A magnetic self-latching device for a gate has a main body with handles on either side for operation or has an arrangement to be remotely actuated. A latching body has a high strength magnet usually provided at the bottom of a cavity which defines a latching shoulder. The latching body is adapted to be fixed to a gate post. The main body, with its housing, can be mounted on the gate frame and incorporates a latch pin which, in the door-closed position, is displaced by magnetic attraction to an extended latching position and against the biasing of a return spring. The gate cannot be opened until actuation of the mechanism occurs, for example by rotating a handle to retract the pin against the magnetic force; the gate can then be swung open. When the handle is released, the biasing spring retains the latch pin in a retracted position.

Abstract: Barricade devices and methods of barricading a door are disclosed. Such devices and methods may be used to barricade a door, and thereby prevent an intruder from entering a sheltering space, such as a classroom, storeroom, or hallway. The barricade-device may have a pivotable stop-device that is pivotable from a location adjacent to a door. The pivot-location may be at an elevation that is lower than a door handle on the door. The stop-device may be pivotable from a reserve-position to a stop-position. In the reserve-position, the stop-device does not barricade the door. In the barricade-position, the stop-device barricades the door. Operation of the barricade-device may require the use of one or more major muscle groups of the body, but need not require precise dexterity of the fingers or hands (e.g. such as that required to manipulate small keys, latches, and/or the grasping and turning of assemblies). As such, the barricade-device may be used properly and quickly by a wide range of people having differing physical and mental capabilities.

Abstract: A locking device between a first structure and a second structure includes a bolt to lock the first and second structures, an indicator as to whether the bolt has locked/unlocked the structures, and a connecting system. The bolt includes a lock bolt attached to the first structure and able to engage a hook which is attached to the second structure. In particular, the connecting system connects the bolt with the lock bolt to the indicator, and the hook is mounted such that it can move between a first position in which it is engaged with the lock bolt and allows the indicator to be locked, and a second position in which the hook is free of the lock bolt and allows the indicator to be unlocked.

Abstract: A multi-point exit door lock and method of installing same, the door lock including main lock and upper and lower lock modules. a push type panic bar, lock bolts associated with each of the lock modules, and a pull-type cable of predetermined length having its ends fixed to the main lock module and to each of the upper and lower lock modules, whereby pushing the panic bar opens all lock modules.
