    摘要: A plasma display panel (PDP) which can realize low voltage driving, to thus reduce power consumption, and which can improve luminous efficiency through a long gap. The PDP includes a first substrate and a second substrate opposing each other, barrier ribs arranged in a space between the first substrate and the second substrate to define a plurality of discharge cells, phosphor layers formed in each of the plurality of discharge cells, address electrodes formed on the second substrate, and display electrodes provided on the first substrate. The display electrodes include igniter electrodes having ends protruding towards insides of the discharge cells, the igniter electrodes opposing the address electrodes within the discharge cells.

    摘要: A phosphor layer is provided on a back glass substrate placed opposite a front glass substrate with a discharge space in between, and formed in a double-layer structure consisting of a first phosphor layer and a second phosphor layer having its surface covered by the first phosphor layer. The first phosphor layer is formed of materials that permit the passing-through of a xenon molecular beam but absorb a xenon resonance line in the vacuum ultraviolet light generated from a discharge gas by means of a discharge, and have a higher resistance to the resonance line than that of the second phosphor layer. The second phosphor layer is formed of materials that have, as compared with the first phosphor layer, a higher light-emission brightness based on the xenon molecular beam in the vacuum ultraviolet light generated from the discharge gas by means of the discharge.

    摘要: A plasma display panel to prevent misdischarge in a non-discharge region. The plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate facing the first substrate. A plurality of display electrodes are formed extending on the first substrate, and a plurality of address electrodes are formed extending on the second substrate and cross the display electrodes. Barrier ribs including a plurality of barrier rib members are positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate, and form a plurality of discharge cells and non-discharge regions. A phosphor is formed inside each of the discharge cells. Each of the non-discharge regions includes one of exposure regions where a part of one of the display electrodes is exposed. The exposure regions are placed alternately in an extending direction of the display electrodes.

    摘要: A plasma display device disclosed herein is capable of enhancing the contrast of external light, facilitating application of phosphor paste on the bottom of each space surrounded by lattice-like barrier ribs, and reducing a variation in the amount of the phosphor paste applied as much as possible. The lattice-like barrier ribs include lateral ribs extending along a first direction while being nearly in parallel to each other, and vertical ribs extending along a second direction different from the first direction while being nearly in parallel to each other. Each of the lateral ribs is composed of two or more rows of rib elements. Notches for communicating spaces surrounded by the vertical ribs and the lateral ribs to each other in the first direction and/or the second direction are formed at least in portions of the vertical ribs and/or the lateral ribs.
