摘要: Inflatable medical devices and methods for making and using the same are disclosed. The inflatable medical devices can be medical balloons. The balloons can be configured to have a through-lumen or no through-lumen and a wide variety of geometries. The device can have a high-strength, non-compliant, fiber-reinforced, multi-layered wall. The inflatable medical device can be used for angioplasty, kyphoplasty, percutaneous aortic valve replacement, or other procedures described herein.

摘要: Described here are devices, systems, and methods for treating conditions or diseases of the nose, ear, or throat with an expandable device having a drug coating. The expandable devices may be delivered to a body cavity in a low-profile configuration and expanded to contact surrounding tissue. The expandable devices may deliver or release the drug coating to the tissue. Multiple expansions of a single device may be employed during treatment. Various coating excipients and manufacturing parameters for the expandable devices may also be adjusted to enhance or slow transfer of the drug coating and/or release of the drug to the target tissue site. The drug transferred to the tissue may act as an in situ depot that enables maintenance of a therapeutic level of locally delivered drug for a desired time period after removal of the expandable devices.

摘要: A dilation catheter device and system for dilating an opening in a paranasal sinus and/or other passageways within the ear, nose or throat is disclosed. A dilation catheter device and system is constructed in a manner that facilitates ease of use by the operator and, in at least some cases, allows the dilation procedure to be performed by a single operator. Additionally, the dilation catheter device and system may be useable in conjunction with an endoscope and/or a fluoroscope to provide for easy manipulation and positioning of the devices and real time visualization of the entire procedure or selected portions thereof. In some embodiments, shaft markers are disposed on a shaft of the dilation catheter and have a light color to contrast with a dark color of the dilation catheter shaft. The high contrast between the markers and catheter shaft allows for easy viewing of the markers in low light and operation conditions.

摘要: A re-entry device (1) for recanalization procedures of an arterial vessel by an intraluminal or subintimal technique includes a catheter (10) having a distal end (12) with a curved tip (13) by an angle (α) of between 30° and 90°, and an angled-tip stylet (2) insertable into the inner lumen of the catheter (10) to exit from a distal opening (14) thereof. The angled-tip stylet (2) is metal and has a distal end (22) with a curved tip (23) ending in a sharped apex (24). The distal end (22) of the an angled-tip stylet (2) is tapered and has a length of 3-5 cm, and the curved tip (23) is bent by an angle (β) of between 30° and 50°. The structure makes the apex (24) adjustable outside the two-dimensional plane defined by the curved tip (13) of the catheter (10) to facilitate penetration of the arterial wall.
