Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to determine whether or not a mobile alert message is in effect. Such a determination may be based on a cancellation message (or other message(s) received from the network, possibly in response to a query from the UE. Alternatively or additionally, such a determination may be based on monitoring rebroadcasts of the alert and/or determining that no rebroadcast has been received for a period of time.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to transmitting an emergency message to a user equipment device (UE) over a wireless local area network (WLAN). The UE may establish a connection with an access point through WLAN. The UE may transmit, via the access point and to a network entity, an indication that the UE supports receiving emergency messaging through the WLAN. At least in part in response to communicating the indication, the UE may receive, from the network entity and via the access point, an emergency message and location information. The UE may compare the location information with a location of the UE to determine whether the UE is located within a first region specified by the location information. Based on a determination that the location of the UE is within the first region, the UE may display the emergency message on a display of the UE.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for performing efficient discovery of edge computing servers. A wireless device may provide an edge compute request to an edge discovery service, which may indicate one or more criteria for the edge compute request. The edge discovery service may select one or more edge application servers for the edge compute request based on edge compute resource availability profile information that it stores for multiple edge application servers and the one or more criteria for the edge compute request. The edge discovery service may provide a response to the edge compute request to the wireless device, which may include an indication of the selected edge application server or servers.

Abstract: User equipment devices (UEs) and methods are described for performing single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI)-aware public land mobile network (PLMN) selection in a roaming scenario. A mapping list is received that includes a mapping of a plurality of public land mobile networks (PLMNs) to corresponding S-NSSAI values. The mapping list is received from a home PLMN (HPLMN) of the UE over non-3rd generation partnership (non-3GPP) access, from a server, or from a Universal Mobile Telecommunications Service (UMTS) subscriber identity module (USIM) of the UE. An available PLMN is determined that is mapped to a preferred S-NSSAI value of the UE based on the mapping list. A connection is established with the available PLMN.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive a list of Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs) that support a given network slice in a given country, different from a home country of a home PLMN of the UE. When roaming in the given country, UE may access a PLMN of the list if the given network slice is desired. The list may be provided by the home PLMN: while the UE is in the home country; or via a visited PLMN while the UE is in the given country. The list may be received in response to a UE-initiated request, or pushed to the UE by the home PLMN. A validity timer period received with the list may indicate a duration of validity of the list. In an alternative scenario, the UE may receive the list from an entitlement server, e.g., one belonging to a visited PLMN.

Abstract: An accessory device may dynamically determine to transition a cellular connection between mobile-initiated communication only (MICO) mode and non-MICO mode based on a variety of factors. The accessory device may be configured to communicate through a non-cellular network in addition to the cellular network. The accessory device may transition from MICO to non-MICO mode based on one or more of: loss of the non-cellular connection; location of the accessory device; a call, data, or SMS request failure over the non-cellular network; or other factors.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for enhancement of multi-SIM devices, such as UE 106. A network may increase paging retries for known MU-SIM devices, e.g., based on an indication of capabilities from a MU-SIM device. The indication may be via a NAS registration request, an RRC capability procedure, and/or an RRC UE assistance procedure. Additionally, a network may include an indication of a paging priority to the UE. The UE may then determine a response to the page based, at least in part, on the indicated priority. Further, the UE may indicate a tune-away to the network. The indication of the tune-away may include a cause and/or duration for the tune-away and may be provided at an RRC level or a network access stratum (NAS) level.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for performing Wi-Fi authentication in a wireless communication system. Public key cryptography may be used to enhance the confidentiality of the user's permanent identity in transit. In some embodiments, a RSA-OAEP(SHA-256) encryption scheme may be used to protect the permanent identity when the EAP client needs to send the user's permanent identity to the server in the absence of pseudonym or fast re-authentication identity. In some embodiments, a server certificate is used to authenticate a iWLAN tunnel to protect an IMSI during setup of a Wi-Fi call. Using the methods described herein on both or either of the EAP client and server side may offer improved privacy protection.

Further, methods include an information element configured to indicate which access type has been de-registered.
