Abstract:
A method of reconstructing a previously occluded area of a video image frame exposed by the motion of a segment within said image frame. In one embodiment the method involves approximating the color values of the pixels in the newly exposed area from the color values of the neighboring image segments. The process is refined by identifying a set of neighboring segments to the exposed area, called fill segments, that most closely resemble the color values of the pixels within the exposed area. These fill segments are then used to reconstruct the color values of the exposed area. In one embodiment, the identities of the fill segments are transmitted to an exemplary decoder.

The present invention provides for a vehicle, such as a motorcycle, that is capable of sufficiently absorbing shock applied in the vehicle width direction due to uneven terrain, such as bumps and potholes, on the ground or road during turns. The vehicle, such as the motorcycle, includes a head pipe for supporting a front wheel, a main frame for supporting a rear wheel to which the head pipe is attached for rotation about a torsion axis of a shaft part extending longitudinally, and a torsion spring for absorbing shock as the head pipe rotates with respect to the main frame.

Process for producing photoresist polymeric compound having repeated units corresponding to at least one monomer selected from monomer (a) having lactone skeleton, monomer (b) having group which becomes soluble in alkali by elimination with acid, and monomer (c) having alicyclic skeleton having hydroxyl group. Process includes (A) polymerizing mixture of monomers containing at least one monomer selected from the above monomers (a), (b), and (c), and (B) extracting polymer formed in the polymerization by using organic solvent and water to partition the formed polymer into organic solvent layer and metal component impurity into aqueous layer, or passing polymer solution, which contains polymer having repeated units corresponding to at least one of the above monomers (a), (b), and (c) and metal content of which is 1000 ppb by weight or less relative to the polymer through filter comprising porous polyolefin membrane having cation-exchange group. The photoresist polymeric compounds have a metallic impurity content that is extremely low.

A frame input unit receives an input of a frame having a placement area for an element to which a predetermined signal is supplied. A netlist input unit receives an input of a netlist concerning the element. A placing unit places the element in the placement area of the frame input by the frame input unit based on the netlist input by the netlist input unit. A detecting unit detects whether there is a vacant position in the placement area in which the element is placed by the placing unit, and a bypass-element placing unit places a bypass element at the vacant position detected by the detecting unit, the bypass element propagating the predetermined signal by bypassing the element located adjacent to the vacant position.
Abstract:
A Soft Computing (SC) optimizer for designing a Knowledge Base (KB) to be used in a control system for controlling a motorcycle is described. In one embodiment, a simulation model of the motorcycle and rider control is used. In one embodiment, the simulation model includes a feedforward rider model. The SC optimizer includes a fuzzy inference engine based on a Fuzzy Neural Network (FNN). The SC Optimizer provides Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) structure selection, FIS structure optimization method selection, and teaching signal selection and generation. The user selects a fuzzy model, including one or more of: the number of input and/or output variables; the type of fuzzy inference; and the preliminary type of membership functions. A Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used to optimize linguistic variable parameters and the input-output training patterns. A GA is also used to optimize the rule base, using the fuzzy model, optimal linguistic variable parameters, and a teaching signal. The GA produces a near-optimal FNN. The near-optimal FNN can be improved using classical derivative-based optimization procedures. The FIS structure found by the GA is optimized with a fitness function based on a response of the actual plant model of the controlled plant. The SC optimizer produces a robust KB that is typically smaller that the KB produced by prior art methods.

The map display control apparatus includes a map display control unit, a communication control unit, a map information transmission unit and a map information reception unit. The map display control unit controls the display device so as to update the map displayed on the display device based upon the updated information related to the map. The map information update apparatus includes a communication control unit, a map information update reception unit, a map display update data base unit, and an updated map information transmission unit that transmits information related to the map updated by the map information update unit to the map display control apparatus via the communication control unit.
Abstract:
A high-density information recording medium free from lowering the reflectance by over-write of a large number of times and exfoliation defect in a structure for suppressing cross-erase. This medium includes, over a substrate having a groove shape, a recording layer, and three-layered thin films of a first interference layer, a second interference layer and an interface layer having mutually different compositions and disposed on a laser beam incidence side of the recording layer in order named from the laser beam incidence side. The first interference layer has a smaller refractive index and a larger thermal conductivity than the second interference layer, the interface layer is interposed between the second interference layer and the recording layer, and a distance between the first interference layer and the recording layer is greater than at least a groove depth.
Abstract:
External magnetic fields H(x) or reproducing light beams L(x) having different intensity patterns are applied to an identical recording position on a magneto-optical recording medium so that different pieces of information corresponding to the patterns are reproduced from the identical recording position. A function H(x) or L(x) is a password for obtaining the information. Only a person, who knows the function, can access specified information recorded on the magneto-optical recording medium. The function H(x) or L(x) is a function in which the magnetic field intensity or the light intensity is modulated with respect to the recording position x so that magnetic domains may be thinned out to perform reproduction at a specified cycle from continuous magnetic domains in a recording area. Other than the use for the purpose of security, reproduced C/N can be remarkably improved by performing reproduction n times while radiating a reproducing light beam PL/PH which is power-modulated so that the high power PH is applied at every cycle which is not less than n times the recording clock, to a specified magneto-optical recording medium capable of magnetic domain-magnifying reproduction.
