Abstract: According to one embodiment, a semiconductor substrate including, a switching element, a first organic insulating film, first and second metal lines arranged in a first direction and extending in a second direction, and a metal electrode located between the first and second metal lines. The first organic insulating film includes first and second surfaces. The switching element is covered with the first surface. The first and second metal lines and the metal electrode are located on the second surface side. The first metal line includes a first portion extending in the second direction and a second portion having a width larger than a width of the first portion. The second portion includes arcuate first and second edge. The metal electrode has a polygonal shape having n corners or an elliptic shape where n is larger than four.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to realize a structure that the testing terminals are remained in the final product in the liquid crystal display device having a variant display area. The structure of the present invention is as follows. The display area is variant, the outer shapes of the counter substrate 200 and the TFT substrate are also variant similar to the display area. The terminal area formed on the TFT substrate has a straight first area, a second area and a third area; the second area and the third are bent from the first area and formed at sides of the first area. A plurality of terminals to drive the liquid crystal display device exist in the first area, and a plurality of terminals for testing the liquid crystal display device exist in the second area and the third area.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to prevent an overhang in a through hole in the display area when through holes in the organic passivation film in the display area and in the terminal area are simultaneously formed. The structure to realize this purpose is as follows: the terminal area having a lead wire, formed from a first metal, and extending to the display area, a first insulating film covering the lead wire, a second metal formed on the first insulating film, and a third metal formed on the surface of the second metal, wherein the first insulating film has a first through hole and a second through hole, the second metal has a first portion that connects with the lead wire via the first through hole, the second metal has a second portion that overlaps the second through hole, the second portion is separated from the first portion.

Abstract: A peripheral wiring region of a display device includes a first insulating layer on a substrate, a first wiring layer on the first insulating layer, a second insulating layer which is present on the first insulating layer and covers the first wiring layer, and a second wiring layer on the second insulating layer. A plurality of video signal wirings are arranged in the first wiring layer. A plurality of touch detection wirings arranged in a matrix in an X direction and a Y direction and a conductor pattern to which a fixed potential is supplied are formed in the second wiring layer. The conductor pattern is arranged at a position overlapping a part of the plurality of video signal wirings and is capacitively coupled to the part of the plurality of video signal wirings.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes: a substrate; a display region; a peripheral region; signal lines; terminals; wires coupling the terminals and the signal lines in the peripheral region; and first and second metal layers in different layers perpendicularly to the substrate and an insulating film in the peripheral region. The peripheral region includes: a first wiring region, in which the wires are electrically coupled to the signal lines; a second wiring region between the first wiring region and the terminals, and in which at least one or more wires pass through the first and second metal layers; and a third wiring region between the first and second wiring regions, and in which the wires extend in a second direction intersecting the first direction. The third wiring region includes contacts coupling the first and second metal layers, and a virtual line connecting the contacts has a curved shape.

Abstract: A display device includes: a first pixel transistor couples one electrode of holding capacitance to a first signal line; a second pixel transistor couples another electrode of the holding capacitance to a second signal line; a third pixel transistor couples the other electrode of the holding capacitance to a GND potential; and a driver that supplies a negative potential to the second signal line when the first signal line is supplied with a positive potential, supplies the GND potential to the second signal line when the first signal line is supplied with the GND potential, and supplies the positive potential to the second signal line when the first signal line is supplied with the negative potential. The first and second pixel transistors are on during a writing period and off during a holding period. The third pixel transistor is off during the writing period and on during the holding period.

Abstract: A detection device includes: detection elements; scan lines coupled to the detection elements and configured to supply drive signals to the detection elements; output signal lines coupled to the detection elements, detection signals from the detection elements being output to the output signal lines; a drive circuit configured to supply the drive signals to the detection elements; and a detection circuit configured to be supplied with the detection signals through the output signal lines. Each detection element includes a photoelectric conversion element, a source follower transistor configured to output a signal corresponding to an electrical charge of the photoelectric conversion element, and a read transistor configured to read the output signal of the source follower transistor and output the detection signal. During a reset period, an initial voltage obtained by superimposing a reference voltage on a threshold voltage of the source follower transistor is applied to the photoelectric conversion element.
