An automatic document feeder for an image processing machine. The document feeder includes a main frame to be pivotally mounted on the image processing machine, a paper feeding unit, a paper discharging unit, and a conveyer belt for conveying papers from the paper feeding unit, across the image processing machine for image processing, to the paper discharging unit for discharge. A document discharging tray is positioned above the conveyer belt for receipt and stacking of papers discharged from a discharge port of the paper discharging unit. In the direction of document discharge, the document discharging tray has an ascending inclination, followed by a descending inclination. The ascending inclination and the descending inclination define a vertex spaced from the discharge port in the document discharging direction by more than one-half the length of the maximum-length document to be processed by the image processing machine.

In the ADF of this invention, not only the conveying unit but also at least one of the paper feeding unit and the paper discharging unit are supported by a support frame via floating support mechanisms. The conveying unit and either one of the paper feeding unit and the paper discharging unit are provided with a plurality of contact pieces that come in contact with the platen glass and with the housing at the closed position of the support frame or the ADF. The load of either the paper feeding unit or the paper discharging unit is supported by said contact pieces at the closed position of the ADF.

A paper feeding cassette setting arrangement which is so arranged that the action point of a pushing arm is pulled by a spring so as to push up a paper tray only when the paper feeding cassette is set in the copying apparatus. The operator has only to push in the paper feeding cassette when the cassette is desired to be set in the copying apparatus, and also the operator has only to pull out the paper feeding cassette when the cassette is desired to be taken out of the copying apparatus since the cassette has been already pulled out to some extent, with the lock thereof being released. A pushing arm may rotate orthogonal to the paper feeding direction.

This invention relates to a welding material of ferrite-austenite two-phase stainless steel capable of producing a weld metal having a high resistance to corrosion, particularly in an environment containing nitric acid, and the method of application therefor. The apparatus includes piston cylinder means which can receive a sample of the volume proportional to the measured flow rate and subsequently discharge the collected sample into sample collecting or storing means. The piston cylinder means comprises a piston member and a cylinder member. During the sample collecting cycle, the piston member moves by a distance corresponding to the measured flow rate during a constant period of time. This piston moving distance defines the amount of the sample to be collected. During the subsequent sample discharging operation, the piston is quickly returned and the collected sample is discharged. These cycles are automatically repeated.
