    Abstract: A method of improving tannin stain blocking in a tannin-containing substrate is disclosed which involves applying to the substrate a blend of:(a) an acid-functional polymer formed from about 0.1% by weight to about 20% by weight, based on the total weight of said polymer, of at least one acid-functional monomer; and(b) about 0.1% by weight to about 20% by weight, based on the weight of said acid-functional polymer, of at least one organosilane having a number average molecular weight of from about 100 to about 10,000.A method of improving the physical properties of the coating composition, including viscosity, adhesion, scrub resistance, water whitening resistance, corrosion resistance, hot block resistance and water, fire, smoke, nicotine, pen and ink stain blocking is also disclosed.

    Abstract: Provided are coating-forming coating compositions comprising the following components A and B, preferably further including the following component C and/or D, and having superior surface hardness, abrasion resistance, flexibility, dyeability and durability, as well as coatings formed by curing such coating compositions:A.
