    摘要: An illuminated sign apparatus comprised of a reflector with dedicated cavities which are formed by having the perimeter walls of each cavity conform precisely to each individual area of the sign desiring illumination, typically alphabetic characters and the background area they create. The bottom walls of these cavities will project towards the viewers eye parabolically. The midpoint of the cavity, when viewed in cross section, is to be slightly less in height than that of the cavity-defining perimeter walls. The perimeter walls have point source lights such as light emitting diodes (LEDs) distributed along their surface. These cavities may be filled in with transparent substance, fully encapsulating the LEDs thereby eliminating any reflective air space and facilitating light diffusion. The light sources may be provided with circuitry allowing unique powering to each of the individual cavities, resulting in the possibility of a variety of different display effects.

    摘要: A kit retrofits a conventional exit sign, which normally uses internally mounted incandescent or fluorescent lamps, to operate using multiple LED sources in a group or assembly on a board. Indicia lighting is accomplished substantially indirectly through reflection of light from the LED sources. The LED source is electrically powered through an adapter that fits into the socket of the original incandescent lamp or fluorescent lamp, which is removed in the retrofit process. Metalized plastic light reflective panels are provided in the kit for adhesively connecting to inner surfaces of the enclosure for improved lighting efficiency of the indicia. Reduction of energy consumption by 10 or 20 times is coupled with virtually zero maintenance costs over long periods of time.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a surface illuminating apparatus for illuminating an object or a space in a room or the like and an object of the invention is to provide a surface illuminating apparatus in which an illuminance can be increased and can be made uniform and a transparent plate can be made thin. The surface illuminating apparatus according to the invention comprises: at least one laminated flat plate-like transparent plate; a first reflecting unit arranged on one surface of the transparent plate; at least one light source arranged near side edge portions of the transparent plate; a second reflecting unit arranged around the light source; and a plurality of groove portions which are formed on the surface of the transparent plate on the side opposite to the first reflecting unit and each of which is constructed by two inclined surfaces, wherein inclination angles of the inclined surfaces of the groove portion on the side opposite to the light source to the transparent plate are set to values within a range such that the lights which enter from the light source into the transparent plate in parallel with the surface thereof are totally reflected by the inclined surfaces and the totally reflected lights are not totally reflected by the other surface of the transparent plate.

The display assembly includes an indicator module containing a front panel having a plurality of light transmitting data indicating areas arranged thereon with a plurality of chambers mounted behind the front panel. Each chamber is associated with one of the data indicating areas and encloses light sources therein which illuminate the data indicating areas when energized. A light source module includes a printed circuit board having a plurality of light sources mounted thereto. When the light source module and indicator modules are assembled together, the light sources from the former project into the chambers in the latter to form a finished display.
