The first reflective structure is adjacent to the side surface and far away from the bottom. The second reflective structures are disposed on the bottom. Part of the light beams provided by the light source ejects from the light emitting surface after reflected by one of the second reflective structures. Another part of the light beams ejects from the light emitting surface after reflected by the first reflective structure and one of the second reflective structures sequentially.

The desired illumination effect upon the advertisement panel depends on the type or characteristics of the LED array, the parameters (number of sections, angles of inclination, height, width, reflective material, etc.) of the reflector, and the distance between the panel and the LED array.

An “extra-folded” projection display system includes a selectively reflective material (e.g., a linear reflecting polarizer) placed immediately behind the system's imaging screen. The display system includes an image projector that projects an image beam containing light of a predetermined linear polarization toward the imaging screen. The linear reflecting polarizer reflects the light in the image beam away from the screen. The reflected image beam then encounters a ¼-wavelength achromatic retarder which converts the linear polarization to circular polarization. The image beam next hits a mirror that reflects the light back through the ¼-wavelength achromatic retarder, which converts the circular polarization back to linear polarization, with the polarization director rotated 90° from the original polarization director. The linear reflecting polarizer then allows the light to pass through to the image screen.

The method comprises selecting the maximum viewing angle (&agr;), selecting the illuminated tubing with inside radius (r), determining the minimum distance (d) between the tubing and the reflective channel, and designing the substantially semi-cylindrical reflective channels to have a radius (R) approximately equal to 80% to 120% of r×(1+1/(sin &agr;))+d and an angle of wrap (&bgr;) no greater than about 180°. The design method provides a sign that minimizes visible streaks of brighter and less-bright illuminated regions in the sign when viewed from an angle less than or equal to the maximum viewing angle (&agr;).
