Abstract: An automotive electronic dynamics control system for an automated motor-vehicle. The electronic dynamics control system is designed to implement two distinct Model Predictive Control (MPC)-based Trajectory Planners comprising a Longitudinal Trajectory Planner designed to compute a planned longitudinal trajectory for the automated motor-vehicle; and a Lateral Trajectory Planner designed to compute a planned lateral trajectory for the automated motor-vehicle. The electronic dynamics control system is further designed to cause the planned longitudinal trajectory to be computed before the planned lateral trajectory.

Abstract: An advanced driver assistance system configured to implement one or more automotive V2V applications designed to assist a driver in driving a Host Motor-Vehicle. The advanced driver assistance system is configured to be connectable to an automotive on-board communication network to communicate with automotive on-board systems to implement one or different automotive functionalities aimed at assisting the driver in driving the Host Motor-Vehicle, controlling the Host Motor-Vehicle, and informing the driver of the Host Motor-Vehicle of the presence of Relevant Motor-Vehicles deemed to be relevant to the driving safety of the Host Motor-Vehicle. The advanced driver assistance system comprises an automotive V2V communication system operable to communicate with automotive V2V communication systems of Remote Motor-Vehicles via V2V messages containing motor-vehicle position-related, motion-related, and state-related data. The advanced driver assistance system is further configured to receive V2V messages transmitted by V2V communications systems of Remote Motor-Vehicles; identify from among the Remote Motor-Vehicles in communication with the Host Motor-Vehicle, Nearby Motor-Vehicles that may represent potential threats to the driving safety of the Host Motor-Vehicle, based on motor-vehicle position-related, motion-related, and state-related data in received V2V messages and on motor-vehicle position-related, motion-related, and state-related data of the Host Motor-Vehicle; and process the data contained in the V2V messages received from the Nearby Motor-Vehicles to identify from among the Nearby Motor-Vehicles Relevant Motor-Vehicles that may be relevant to the automotive functionalities aimed at assisting the driver in driving the Host Motor-Vehicle, controlling the Host Motor-Vehicle, at informing the driver of the Host Motor-Vehicle of the presence of Relevant Motor-Vehicles deemed to be relevant to the driving safety, and dispatch on the automotive on-board communication network a list of virtual objects containing information on the Host Motor-Vehicle and on the Relevant Motor-Vehicles, for exploitation by one or more of the functionalities aimed at assisting the driver in driving the Host Motor-Vehicle, controlling the Host Motor-Vehicle, and informing the driver of the Host Motor-Vehicle of the presence of the Relevant Motor-Vehicles deemed to be relevant to the driving safety of the Host Motor-Vehicle, or exploit the information on the Host Motor-Vehicle and on the Relevant Motor-Vehicles in the implementation of one or more of the automotive functionalities aimed at assisting the driver in driving the Host Motor-Vehicle, controlling the Host Motor-Vehicle, and informing the driver of the Host Motor-Vehicle of the presence of the Relevant Motor-Vehicles and of relevant events deemed to be relevant to the driving safety of the Host Motor-Vehicle.

Abstract: An automotive electronic preventive active safety system comprising a control module configured to receive data indicative of a current position of a vehicle, of roads and characteristics thereof including road curvature, and of potential driving routes of the motor-vehicle from a current position up to an electronic horizon thereof. Abstract: An air outlet device has a supporting structure suitable for communicating, in use, with an air ventilation system, and an outlet member that is configured so as to supply an air flow along an outlet axis and is coupled to the supporting structure so as to rotate by 180° about a joint axis orthogonal to the outlet axis, to assume two opposite configurations. Abstract: A method for forming a sheet made of an aluminium alloy into a component of complex shape, particularly a motor-vehicle component, such as an outer panel or an inner frame of a bonnet or a door of a motor-vehicle, provides for blow-forming of the sheet, with the aid of pressurized gas, within a mould. The alloy constituting the sheet does not have superplasticity features and the sheet and/or the mould are heated to a temperature in the order of 400°-450° C. for 5XXX series alloys and 450°-500° C. and over for 6XXX and 7XXX series alloys. The maximum pressure reached by the forming gas is in the order of 20-30 bars and the time required for forming the sheet is between 40 and 150 seconds and therefore is consistent with production rates in the automotive field.

Abstract: A method for obtaining a camshaft for an internal-combustion engine having a structure made of a single piece includes obtaining the camshaft by starting from a metal tubular element. The cams are obtained by expanding the tubular element within a die using high-pressure fluid. The tubular element can have an enlarged thickness in portions that are to form the cams. Forming with high-pressure fluid can be obtained using gas or liquid (for example, water or oil) at high pressure, at room temperature or at a higher temperature. The piece obtained is subjected to thermal treatment and to a grinding operation.

Abstract: A method for locating a tool in a work space via ultrasound includes associating an ultrasound transmitter to a tool and calculating a position of the tool on the basis of determination of the position of the transmitter. At least three ultrasound receivers for receiving ultrasound signals from the transmitter are set in positions relative to the work space. A calculation of a position of the transmitter includes using a trilateration procedure that includes a change of reference of the positions of the receivers and is carried out to reference them in a second simplified reference system. An unknown point in the second simplified reference system is obtained. A rototranslation of the position of the unknown point obtained from the second simplified reference system is carried out into a first reference system, and a corresponding rototranslation matrix is calculated such that the unknown point is used as position of the transmitter.
