摘要: A method is provided for forming a flat metal blank as a workpiece in a forming die. The method may include providing a forming die with at least one cavity, and providing at least one blankholder for fixing a flat metal blank to the at least one cavity during the forming. The method may also include heating the flat metal blank to a solution heat treatment temperature specific to the flat metal blank while maintaining the forming die at the solution heat treatment temperature. The method may also include forming the workpiece from the flat metal blank at the solution heat treatment temperature.

An end of the preform is clamped to a floating plate using a bladder-activated clamp. The floating plate is translated in a first direction to tension the preform into a shaped body. 摘要: Exemplary vehicle structures include a frame component that provides greater strength and/or other desired properties to a vehicle structure. The frame component includes a first wall (6) and a second wall (7). The first and second walls each comprise at least one metal sheet. The first and second walls bound a sealed interior gap (28). Pressurized fluid is introduced into the sealed interior gap through at least one of the walls via a fluid connector (8). In some arrangements the gap includes a hermetically sealed pocket (110) that is bounded by a pocket wall (36). The pressurized fluid is delivered into the pocket interior area that is bounded by the pocket wall. The fluid delivered to the sealed interior gap and/or the pocket interior area may be operative to cause controlled permanent deformation thereof to produce desired wall configurations which have increased strength. The fluid housed within the sealed interior gap may provide increased strength or other desired properties. Vehicle structures such as vehicle side frames, vehicle floor members and vehicle frame longitudinal members may each include one or more of the frame components integrated in the vehicle structure.

摘要: The present invention discloses a method for pressure forming of an aluminum alloy special-shaped tubular component by using an ultra-low temperature medium. By means of the characteristics that the forming property of an aluminum alloy tube is greatly improved under ultra-low temperature conditions, a tube is cooled and pressurized in a die through an ultra-low temperature medium, so that the tube forms a special-shaped tubular component at an ultra-low temperature. In the method for pressure forming of an aluminum alloy special-shaped tubular component by using an ultra-low temperature medium, the ultra-low temperature medium is not only used for cooling the die and the tube, but also used for pressurization to achieve flexible loading of the tube, which is favorable for forming complex special-shaped tubular components with varied cross-sections.
