Abstract:
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a Domain Name System (DNS) server having a controller to receive new provisioning information for updating a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), and update the FQDN with the new provisioning information. The new provisioning information can include among other things a start time for rehoming one or more user endpoint devices (UEs) assigned to a current session border Controller (S/BC), a move-from record comprising a descriptor of at least the current S/BC, a move-to record comprising a descriptor of at least a new S/BC to which to rehome the one or more UEs, a transfer window representing a total time for the rehoming the one or more UEs to the new S/BC, and a pacing parameter for rehoming the one or more UEs to the new S/BC during the transfer window. Additional embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
A method and system for managing messages in a unified messaging (UM) platform to enable message recall is disclosed. The UM platform deposits a message from a sender into a UM mailbox of a recipient. It is then determined whether the sender of the message is a UM subscriber. If the sender is a UM subscriber, a copy of the message or a link to the message is deposited into a UM mailbox of the sender. The UM platform then provides a message recall option with the copy of the message or the link to the message in the UM mailbox of the sender. If the sender is not a UM subscriber, a recall message including a randomly generated message recall URL is sent to the sender. This allows the sender to select the randomly generated message recall URL to send a message recall request to the UM platform, which deletes the message from the mailbox of the recipient in response to the message recall request.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to control a voice eXtensible Markup Language (VXML) session are disclosed. An example application server comprises an interface to send a first protocol message to a media server to initiate a communication session to provide first VXML content to the media server, and a session controller to detect an event at the application server and to direct the interface to send a second protocol message to the media server to interrupt the first VXML content at the media server and to direct the media server to obtain second VXML content via the communication session.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of controlling a messaging system are provided. A particular method includes generating an n-times-use network address to access a control interface in response to receipt of a message addressed to a subscriber at a messaging system. The method further includes determining a notification address associated with the subscriber and generating a notification message addressed to the notification address. The notification message includes at least a portion of content of the message and the n-times-uses network address. The n-times-use network address is selectable a predetermined number of times at a browser application to send a control message to the control interface to control disposition of the message.
Abstract:
A glucose tolerance test device comprising: a test zone having a means to receive at least first and second blood test samples spaced apart by a predetermined time interval; a timer to measure such a time interval, and for example to measure elapsed time after collection of a said first sample; an indicator to indicate at least that a second test is due, operatively Jinked to the timer so as to make such indication after lapse of a predetermined time interval; a data collector to collect data from the lest zone in relation to each test sample; a data register to store data in relation to each test sample, in data communication with said data collector. A method of use is also described.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for forwarding of fax calls to a messaging service are disclosed. For example, the method receives a call and rings one or more endpoint devices. The method detects an off-hook condition for the one or more endpoint devices and detects a fax tone in the call. The method then informs a network to forward the call towards a messaging service.
Abstract:
A structure-aided method for sealing, from the outside, a liquid-leaking puncture wound in the wall of a liquid container. This method is implemented utilizing a patch body having a perimetered cavity selectively securable to the outside of such a container with the cavity overlying and facing the wound, and the cavity's perimeter surrounding the wound, and a patch pellet confined in the cavity, and possessing a liquid-reaction substance which, with the patch body secured to the container, reacts to contact with liquid leaking from the container at least by imbibing such liquid and swelling to apply wound-sealing pressure, and more preferably by additionally reacting with leakage liquid to form a sticky coagulant mass for aiding in applying sealing pressure to the wound. The patch body may be employed directly on the outside of a container, or with an intermediate, resilient gasket which centralizes the symmetrical introduction of leakage liquid into the pellet-containing cavity.

Abstract:
In an integrated unified messaging (UM) and interactive voice system, a unified messaging application server provides a plurality of different types of messages. The unified messaging application server is responsive to a media server which serves the different types of messages to at least one user device. The unified messaging application server is also responsive to an interactive voice server, that communicates with the unified messaging application server and the media server. The interactive voice server includes a plurality of nodes that can be accessed by the unified messaging application server, such that the user device is provided with messages that allow the user device to access the interactive voice server.
Abstract:
The communication history associated with a contacting party is accessed using identification information provided with an incoming communication. The incoming communication may have a different service type (e.g., email, telephone call, instant message chat) compared to stored communications that make up the communication history for a contacting party. Multiple uniform resource identifiers may be accessed upon processing of identification information associated with the contacting party's incoming communication. Communication histories associated with each uniform resource identifier may be accessed and combined to provide a party receiving the communication with a complete communication history including stored communications having differing service types.
