摘要: There is disclosed a communication and control system connecting geographically separated untended branch bank facilities with a central control facility having audio visual personnel stations for customer service persons with video monitors switchable to receive visual data from a selected branch bank. Video cameras are provided for communicating an image of a service person and control signals to a branch bank. A central security control station receives digital image data from the branch banks. The branch bank facilities have intrusion detection and prevention apparatus and entry control devices for allowing access to authorized persons, and video cameras which are situated and controlled to view all parts of the bank and linked to said central control. Customer stations have a personal computer terminal to communicate with an internet electronic banking site and also may have conventional automated equipment such as a bulk cash dispensing machine, a check cashing machine, a night depository unit, and at least one recording security camera. A terminal at central control has digital data links to cash dispensing and check cashing machines.

摘要: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture provide the ability to update a drawing surface in a CAD/GIS computer application. First, a drawing surface is displayed in a CAD/GIS application. A surface edit operation is then performed on the drawing surface. The CAD/GIS application then determines if an automatic rebuild option is active. If the rebuild option is active, the drawing surface is dynamically and automatically rebuilt to reflect the surface edit operation. Alternatively, if the automatic rebuild option is inactive (e.g., toggled off), the drawing surface is flagged as out-of-date.

摘要: A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture provide the ability to manipulate a drawing surface in a CAD/GIS computer application. A drawing surface is displayed in a CAD/GIS application followed by the performance of a surface edit operation on the drawing surface. The surface edit operation is stored/saved as an atomic property in a list of surface edit operations. The list of surface edit operations is displayed in a graphical user interface (GUI). Each surface edit operation may be independently toggled on/off in the GUI and such toggling is reflected in the CAD/GIS application by displaying an effect of executing the surface edit operation if toggled on and displaying the drawing surface without execution of the surface edit operation if toggled off.

摘要: A composite conduit suitable for transporting corrosive and/or erosive fluids including gases, liquids or slurries, is formed by positioning a tube formed of a material having desirable corrosion and/or erosion resistant properties within a pipe formed of a commonly weldable material such that one end of the tube is aligned with one end of the pipe. The tube has an outer diameter slightly less than the inner diameter of the pipe. The tube is affixed to the pipe by connecting the aligned ends thereof, and the pipe is compressed in a reducing operation so that the inner diameter of the pipe is reduced to a diameter that is less than or equal to the outer diameter of the tube. Adjacent, end-to-end sections of the composite conduit are connected using a coupling that employs a cylindrical body formed of the same material as the tubes of the conduits. The coupling body has an outer diameter that is slightly less than the inner diameter of the tubes of the conduits, and preferably an inner diameter that varies to form a taper at each end of the body. The body further contains a circumferential recess intermediate the ends of the body, and a ring formed of the same material as the pipes of the conduits. The ring is positioned within the recess of the body and has a circumferential stop means for limiting movement of the ends of the body within the respective ends of the conduits by the ends of the conduits abutting the stop means. At least one circumferential seal is positioned intermediate the recess and each of the tapered ends of the body for sealing the interconnected conduits. An insulator is preferably positioned in the recess between the ring and the coupling body for inhibiting the transfer of heat produced by welding the ends of the conduits together, although the insulator is not essential in all embodiments.

摘要: An augmented reality system provides improved focus of real and virtual objects. A see-through display device includes a variable focus lens a user looks through. A focal region adjustment unit automatically focuses the variable focus lens in a current user focal region. A microdisplay assembly attached to the see-through display device generates a virtual object for display in the user's current focal region by adjusting its focal region. The variable focus lens may also be adjusted to provide one or more zoom features. Visual enhancement of an object may also be provided to improve a user's perception of an object.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer media for estimating user eye gaze are provided. A plurality of images of a user's eye are acquired. At least one image of at least part of the user's field of view is acquired. At least one gaze target area in the user's field of view is determined based on the plurality of images of the user's eye. An enhanced user eye gaze is then estimated by narrowing a database of eye information and corresponding known gaze lines to a subset of the eye information having gaze lines corresponding to a gaze target area. User eye information derived from the images of the user's eye is then compared with the narrowed subset of the eye information, and an enhanced estimated user eye gaze is identified as the known gaze line of a matching eye image.

摘要: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a controller can be operable to generate a target list of subscribers by filtering a list of potential target users of an application existing on a source device by removing target subscribers from the target list of subscribers according to selection criteria. The controller can be further operable to transmit to devices of the target list of subscribers content associated with the application that when accessed invites the target list of subscribers to use the application, and to provision the application on at least one device associated with the target list of subscribers. Other embodiments are disclosed.
