The polymeric pipes reinforced with a metal casing are used for transporting oil and gas, acids, alkali products, drinking water and industrial water, and also in the transportation of aggressive and neutral pulps. A metal-containing polymeric reinforced pipe includes a welded metal casing and a polymeric matrix having an amorphous-phase-based molecular structure. The metal-containing polymeric reinforced pipe is produced by extrusion moulding with simultaneous feeding of a polymer melt and the reinforcing metal casing into the mould cavity, followed by intensive cooling of the internal and external surfaces of the pipe being moulded. The invention increases the quality and endurance limit in the radial direction of the metal-containing polymeric reinforced pipe, productivity of the process for manufacturing the pipe, and also the strength and technological effectiveness of a pipeline constructed from the pipes produced.

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a sectionally reinforced member made of a tubular hollow profile (1) made of metal. For sectional reinforcement of the hollow profile (1), a sleeve (3) made of metal is slid onto the hollow profile (1) and on the entire area of the section to be reinforced is bonded with bonding agent (2), so that the wall of the tubular hollow section (1) and the sleeve (3) as a result of the bonding agent (2) form a bond. In order to facilitate sliding the sleeve (3) onto the hollow profile (1), the sleeve (3) is enlarged by heating, and/or the external dimensions of the hollow section (1) are reduced by cooling. Forming the hollow section (1) comprising the sleeve (3) into a member takes place prior to a finishing additional treatment step for the purpose of curing the bonding agent (2).

A multi-walled steel pipe includes at least two pipe bodies of different diameters. The two pipe bodies are overlapped with one another. Either the inner surface of the outer pipe body or the outer surface of the inner pipe body is a rough surface having a roughness of 10 to 30 .mu.m. The rough surface is made by brasting, etching, or brushing or by the use of rolls. At least one of the overlapping surfaces is plated with copper to provide a brazing layer by which the overlapping surfaces are brazed together. The pipe bodies are double-walled stainless pipes, seamless stainless pipes, or electroseamed pipes.

The method of forming a seamed metal tube having a metal coating of this invention includes galvanizing the strip prior to welding. The strip is then formed into an open seam tube and welded in an inert atmosphere with the seam located in the lower portion of the tube. Finally, the metal coating is caused to flow downwardly over the seam, coating the seam by several means. In one embodiment, the strip is preformed into an arcuate shape and galvanized, wherein the zinc coating in creases in thickness toward the lateral strip edges, such that the coating will flow over the seam following welding. The tube may also be reheated following welding, preferably in an enclosure containing an inert atmosphere which includes the weld apparatus. In an other embodiment, an inert gas is directed over the inner and outer surfaces of the tube, adjacent the seam, driving the molten metal downwardly over the seam to coat the seam. In another embodiment, the lateral edges of the strip are formed with indentions or grooves directed toward the lateral edges which direct the molten metal downwardly over the seam.

A hot dip-metal coated steel tube having a high corrosion resistance and an optionally beautiful appearance, and a method and apparatus for manufacturing a continuous length of the said tube from a steel strip automatically in an in-line process is disclosed. A plurality of uniformly distributed dents are formed in the surface of a continuous length of steel strip. The dented strip is formed into tubing and a metal coating is applied to the tubing. The uniform distribution of the small dents on the surface of the tubing permits a heavy metallic coating to be applied to the tubing and improves the bond between the coating and the surface of the tubing, and the appearance of the tubing is improved. The continuous manufacturing system moves the tubing along its length from a welding apparatus through a temperature controlling device, wherein the heat from the hot welded seam is dispersed over the tube circumference to provide an efficient and uniform pickling in a subsequent pickling step without any local over pickling or under pickling on the tube surface, and the oxide film formed at the welded seam of the tube is removed by means of pickling.
