An image restoration method includes receiving an externally input image signal, generating a filtered image signal by filtering the input image signal, and generating a restored image signal by calculating a weighted average of the input image signal and the filtered image signal. Such a method may be implemented using an image restoration device including an image filtering unit adapted generated the filtered image signal, and an image mixing unit adapted to generate the restored image signal. More particularly, the restored image signal may be generated using weighting factors calculated based on the input image signal, by calculating a local variance of pixels in the input image signal, and calculating the weighting factor for each of the pixels based on the local variance of each of the pixels.

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a backlight unit for an embodiment. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels and the backlight unit supplies light to the display panel. The backlight unit includes a light source, which generates the light, and an optical sheet. The optical sheet includes a plurality of prism patterns formed on a surface of the optical sheet facing the display panel. The prism patterns include a plurality of peaks and a plurality of valleys to change the path of the light, and a plurality of diffusion patterns arranged at the peaks and valleys.

A method is provided to transmit a signal by a transmitter in a communication system. The method includes predicting a receiver noise signal received from a receiver, and increasing an intelligibility of a transmitter signal using the receiver noise signal. The transmitter signal includes a transmitter noise signal and a transmitter speech signal. The transmitter cancels the transmitter noise signal from the transmitter signal and intensifies the transmitter speech signal in consideration of the receiver noise signal.

The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display, a driving device thereof, a digital to analog converter, and an output voltage amplifying circuit. The present invention provides a liquid crystal display driving device including a reference gray voltage generator for generating a plurality of reference gray voltages, and a data driver for generating a plurality of gray voltages based on the plurality of reference gray voltages and applying a data signal that is generated by selecting a gray voltage corresponding to m-bit video signals applied from the outside from among the plurality of gray voltages to the pixel The data driver includes: a voltage generator for selecting a first gray voltage and a second gray voltage corresponding to bit values of (m−k) bits from among the video signal from among the plurality of gray voltages, and outputting the first and second gray voltages; an output voltage generator for outputting 2k voltages determined as one of the first and second gray voltages corresponding to bit values of k bits from among the video signal; and an output voltage amplifier for generating the data signal by combining the 2k voltages, and applying the data signal to a plurality of pixels. According to the present invention, a liquid crystal display having a small cost and area can be realized.

Compositions and methods of therapy for treating diseases mediated by stimulation of CD40 signaling on CD40-expressing cells are provided. The methods comprise administering a therapeutically effective amount of an antagonist anti-CD40 antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof to a patient in need thereof. The antagonist anti-CD40 antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof is free of significant agonist activity, but exhibits antagonist activity when the antibody binds a CD40 antigen on a human CD40-expressing cell. Antagonist activity of the anti-CD40 antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof beneficially inhibits proliferation and/or differentiation of human CD40-expressing cells, such as B cells.

Disclosed herein is a mobile terminal with a Near Field Communication (NFC) function, the mobile terminal wirelessly connecting to a reader using NFC. An NFC controller wirelessly connects to the reader through an NFC antenna, and receives an Applet Identification (AID) signal and a function control signal used to control operational states of a plurality of functions provided to the mobile terminal from the reader. A base band unit receives the function control signal, and controls the operational states of functions selected from among the plurality of functions provided to and operated in the mobile terminal. A Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC) unit connects to the NFC controller, and records information about the subscriber of the mobile terminal. A Secure Element (SE) encodes and decodes the signal, which is transmitted and received between the mobile terminal and the reader, using a security algorithm.
