Abstract:
Systems and related methods providing for determining activities of individuals are discussed herein. Circuitry may be configured to wirelessly receive tag signals from a plurality of RF location tags. Two or more of the RF location tags may be positioned on an individual, such as at positions that may at least partially define a human frame. The circuitry may be configured to correlate the two or more RF location tags with the individual. Location data for each of the two or more RF location tags may be determined based on the received tag signals. An activity of the individual may be determined based on the location data. In some embodiments, one or more activities involving multiple individuals may be determined based on RF location tags and sensors positioned on each of the multiple individuals. Furthermore, sensor data from the sensors may be communicated over the UWB channel.

The frame may be configured to receive and support the printhead assembly, where the frame includes a first portion disposed adjacent to the first end of the printhead assembly, and a second frame portion is disposed adjacent to the second end of the printhead assembly. The biasing element may extend between the first frame portion and the second frame portion, where the biasing element may engage the biasing force receiving element of the printhead assembly.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide improvements to printers including the use of engineered structures to limit bending, flexing, and/or twisting during impacts and the use of impact absorbing materials to prevent cracks and breaks. Design features and materials add to the rigidity of the printer design to prevent twisting and flexing during impacts and add to the strength of the printer design in typical breakage areas. For example, embodiments provide improvements that strengthen traditional break areas by the use of improved materials and design optimization to distribute impact forces. Embodiments allow the printer to maintain an operational status following a drop test and/or a tumble test.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed for sensing clear or transparent media in printers. In one embodiment, a media conveyance apparatus is provided comprising a light sensor positioned on a first side of a media conveyance path; a light source positioned on a second side of the media conveyance path; and presence determination circuitry. The media conveyance apparatus is configured such that the light sensor and the light source are positioned such that media may pass between the light sensor and the light source along the media conveyance path. The media conveyance apparatus is further configured such that the light sensor provides signals to the presence determination circuitry indicating an amount of light received from the light source and the presence determination circuitry determines a reflection loss based on the signals received from the light sensor and further determines whether the reflection loss satisfies a loss threshold. The media conveyance apparatus is further configured so that if the presence determination circuitry determines the reflection loss satisfies the loss threshold, the presence determination circuitry outputs a media present indication.

Abstract:
An example disclosed printer includes communications circuitry configured to facilitate communications with a network; and processing circuitry configured to: initiate a connection between the printer and a server via the network; transmit data to the server using the connection, wherein the server is to generate an instruction for the printer based on the data; and perform a printing operation using the instruction received from the server.
Abstract:
An example method includes estimating whether a collision occurred between a plurality of wide band response signals, the wide band response signals being responsive to a first interrogation signal transmitted by a first reader; when the collision is estimated to have occurred and the first reader received a first response from a particular tag, transmitting, by the first reader, a second interrogation signal, the second interrogation signal initiating a communication session between the reader and the particular tag; and transmitting, by the first reader, an acknowledgement packet to cause the tag to refrain from responding to a command during the communication session; and a second reader to refrain from interrogating the particular tag during the communication session.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer program product are described herein for controlling a printing device. In an example embodiment, a print line is divided into frames and frame dot states are determined based on neighboring frame dot states. Maximum motor speeds of the printing device may be adjusted so that actual motor speeds change gradually during printing. The print engine may detect a printhead type by sending a signal to the printhead and receiving a response. Motor torque is dynamically controlled based on type of media and/or labels present on the media.
