Abstract:
The present invention pertains to polyols having autocatalytic properties in urethane formation. Such polyols are prepared by end-capping polyols with a tertiary amine. The invention also discloses the process for producing such polyols an their use in production of polyurethane products.
Abstract:
A system and method for monitoring and displaying database parameters and performance metrics is provided. The database parameters and performance metrics are displayed on a streaming ticker. The streaming ticker indicates when the parameters and performance metrics change and when the parameters and performance metrics are out of specified ranges. The streaming ticker includes hyperlinks to allow a user to receive additional information.
Abstract:
A lighting system adapted to mount on a motorcycle or bicycle helmet. The lighting system includes one or more accelerometers coupled to the helmet and a processor adapted to process the signals from the accelerometers. The accelerometers may be mounted to the helmet, or to the motorcycle or bicycle. The lighting system further includes a light mounted on the helmet that is responsive to the processed signal such that the light illuminates as result of a deceleration force. The system may also include filtering software to remove helmet motion artifact and other noise from the signal. Remote wheel speed indicators may also be used in conjunction with or in place of the accelerometers. Mounting tabs may also be included to releasably attach the lighting unit to the helmet.
Abstract:
A device for providing an indication of moisture present in skin of a user includes a device body including a skin contact portion. A sensor circuit is located in the device body. The sensor circuit is configured to produce an output signal having a signal value that corresponds to moisture level in the skin with the skin contact portion in contact with the skin at a skin measurement location. A controller is in communication with the sensor circuit and is configured to determine the signal value of the output signal. The controller stores a first signal value in memory corresponding to a first output signal produced with the skin contact portion in contact with the skin of the user at a first skin measurement location. The controller stores a second signal value in memory corresponding to a second output signal generated with the contact portion in contact with the skin of the user at a second skin measurement location different from the first skin measurement location. The first and second signal values are used to indicate moisture present in the skin of the user at the second skin measurement location.
Abstract:
A method for booting a system on a chip (IC) integrated circuit includes reading a warm boot flag stored in a persistent register of an analog portion of the system on a chip IC. A warm boot procedure is executed when the warm boot flag is set.
Abstract:
A flexor connector drive system for mechanical flexors of a modular causeway system includes a linear slide mechanism coupled to a linear drive located within a well on a first section of the causeway system. The linear slide mechanism is adapted to be driven out of the well by the linear drive and couple to a flexor located within a well on a second section of the causeway. Upon reversal of the linear drive, the linear slide mechanism pulls the flexor into the well on the first section, for interconnecting the two sections. The linear drive includes a high helix screw that provides high torque under high speed conditions for quickly moving the heavy flexor between the two sections.
Abstract:
An animal-resistant latching system for inhibiting animals from accessing food and food containing refuse within containers is disclosed. The device is composed of an access panel containing an opening to which is secured at least one latching members, a cam assembly, a cover, and a bracket. The latching members are positioned so as to inhibit access to the container when the member is in the latched position and allow access to the container when the member is in the unlatched position. The cam assembly communicates with the latching members so as to move the members between the latched and unlatched positions. The cover and bracket are dimensioned and positioned on the access panel in a predetermined manner so as allow human hands access to the cam assembly and unlatch the container while simultaneously inhibiting such access by animals.
Abstract:
The disclosure is directed to a computational system including a processor and a memory management unit accessible to the processor. The processor is configured to access a common virtual memory space to perform a first task of a plurality of tasks and is configured to access the common virtual memory space to perform a second task of the plurality of tasks. The common virtual memory space references a first set of instructions associated with the first task and references a second set of instructions associated with the second task. The memory management unit is configured to determine a physical memory location of at least one of the first and second sets of instructions when the associated first or second task is to be performed by the processor.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for repelling insects are disclosed. The methods and devices provide personal protection from insect bites and insect landings, particularly mosquito bites. The methods and devices employ insect repellents such as pyrethroids at low (parts per billion) levels. The methods and devices effectively minimize the number of mosquitoes landing on a subject properly using the devices.
