Abstract:
A device is configured to detect an emergency call from a user device associated with a device identifier, the device identifier including information that identifies the user device. The device is configured to detect that the user device is not associated with a valid originating telephone number, based on detecting the emergency call. The device is configured to determine a temporary originating telephone number, based on detecting that the user device is not associated with a valid originating telephone number, and to store an association between the device identifier and the temporary originating telephone number. The device is configured to transmit the emergency call, with information identifying the temporary originating telephone number, to an emergency call device, the temporary originating telephone number permitting the emergency call device to place a return call to the user device.
Abstract:
A method may include receiving a call, at a first mobile switching center (MSC) associated with a first network, wherein the call is intended for a subscriber of services associated with a second network. The method may also include sending a first location request message to a home location register (HLR) to request location information associated with a mobile device to which the call is directed, receiving, by the first MSC, an address associated with a service control point (SCP) and determining, by the SCP, that the second network is experiencing an outage or a problem. The method may further include determining, by the SCP, whether the mobile device is registered with the first network, and forwarding the call via the first network, in response to determining that the mobile device is registered with the first network.
Abstract:
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a mobile edge computing handover service is provided. The mobile edge computing handover service provides for the prospective provisioning of a target mobile edge computing network based on mobility information pertaining to an end device. The mobile edge computing handover service includes managing the provisioning of the application or service, content, and context information in relation to a source mobile edge computing network and the target mobile edge computing network.
Abstract:
A system may be configured to identify that a user device is connected to a first radio access network (“RAN”), via a first technology; and to identify that the user device is capable of accessing a second RAN, via a second technology. The system may further be configured to instruct the user device to concurrently connect to the second RAN and the first RAN, send or receive a first type of traffic via the first RAN, and send or receive a second type of traffic via the second RAN.
Abstract:
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide an eDRX service that may be implemented for idle mode and/or connected mode of an end device. A network device stores eDRX data as a part of subscription data. The network device may provide the eDRX data to another network device that manages eDRX for end devices. The eDRX data may indicate to use global default eDRX timer values, subscriber-based eDRX timer values, ranges of eDRX timer values, and single-valued eDRX timer values. Each type of eDRX timer value may be provisioned on a per end device basis, a per radio access technology type basis, and/or a per application type basis.
Abstract:
Systems and methods described herein provide routing determinations for MT-SMS-over-NAS in core networks that support 5G and legacy systems. A network device stores routing priority data for multiple short message service (SMS) delivery methods in the core network. The network device receives, from a first network element, a delivery request for a mobile-terminated (MT) SMS message directed to an end device and sends, in response, a query to a second network element. The query requests a short message service function (SMSF) address for an SMSF in the core network with which the end device is registered. The network device receives a response to the query and selects, based on the response and the stored routing priority data, an SMS delivery method for the MT SMS message. The network device sends, to a third network element, routing instructions for the MT SMS message based on the selected SMS delivery method.
Abstract:
A computer device may include a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to receive a service request from a user equipment (UE) device via a wireless access network; identify a Short Message Service Inter-Working Function (SMS-IWF) device associated with the UE device; and determine that the identified SMS-IWF device is associated with a link failure. The processor may further be configured to instruct the UE device to detach based on determining that the identified SMS-IWF device is associated with a link failure; receive a re-attach request from the UE device, in response to instructing the UE device to detach; and assign a functioning SMS-IWF device to the UE device, in response to receiving the re-attach request.
Abstract:
A network device obtains an External Identifier for a user device. The External identifier includes a “ @ ” format. The network device generates a message, the message including a user identity field for the user device. The user identity field includes the External Identifier. The network device sends, to another network device, the message via an Sh interface.
Abstract:
A method for determining a Quality of Service (QoS) policy can be based on requested bandwidth. The method may initially receive a connection request which includes a requested bandwidth that corresponds to an application. The method may then determine a policy for an application data flow associated with the application based on the connection request. A bandwidth designation, which is based on the requested bandwidth, may be assigned to the application data flow based on the determined policy. Finally, the policy and the bandwidth designation may be provided so that a bearer can be assigned.
Abstract:
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a mobile edge computing service is provided. The mobile edge computing service provides for the hosting of a function of an application in a mobile edge computer network, and another function of the application to be hosted in a network external from the mobile edge computer network. The mobile edge computing service includes an on-boarding service that obtains subscription information and policies. The mobile edge computing service also includes network resource availability and security measure verifications.
