摘要: A system for controlling combustion knock, if occurring, in an engine by suppressing it by retarding ignition timing. The engine is equipped with traction control for preventing the driven wheel of the vehicle on which the engine is mounted from slipping. In the system, if the traction control is in process, by leaning out a mixture to be supplied to the engine at a high engine speed region, the knock control is discontinued so as to prevent the exhaust gas temperature from rising excessively and so as not to degrade a catalyst installed in the exhaust system and exhaust emission. The knock control is suspended for a period even after the supply of the lean mixture has ceased.

摘要: A driving wheel slip control system for a vehicle detects an excessive slip state of at least one of the driving wheels of the vehicle and reduces engine output when the excessive slip state is detected, by repeating alternate fuel cut and fuel supply such that fuel supply is stopped for a first predetermined time period, and a second predetermined time period. During the second predetermined time period the engine is supplied with an amount of fuel smaller than one required for an operating condition of the engine in the excessive slip state. If the excessive slip state has a greater variation in magnitude than a certain value, fuel supply is continuously effected for a third predetermined time period longer than the first predetermined time period or all the time during the excessive slip state. In another embodiment, slip value is determined which corresponds to the degree of an excessive slip of the driving wheel and a supply controller controls the amount of fuel supplied to various engine cylinders depending on the slip value. A fuel cut-off control cuts off the fuel supply to the various cylinders the number of which depends on the slip value when the slip value exceeds a predetermined slip value.

摘要: An electric therapeutic apparatus for inducing an expectoration of sputum by a patient having difficulty therewith by using an interference low frequency wave, which comprises at least one electric current generating unit for generating an electric current having an intermediate frequency, an electric current detecting unit for detecting an electric current when an electric power is supplied, an electric current controlling unit for controlling the current flowing in the apparatus when an electric power is supplied, and at least one pair of electrodes adapted to be attached to a human body, the input of which is connected to the current generating unit. The apparatus can be combined with a separate bioelectric potential measuring unit with a suitable coupling means so that the electric therapeutic treatment can be carried out while checking the bioelectric potential, this unit being, for example, an electrocardiogram, and therefore, if an abnormal bioelectric potential is detected during the electric therapeutic treatment, the current supplied to the therapeutic apparatus is stopped or reduced so that a treatment having a high safety and excellent accuracy can be obtained. Moreover, a fixing device of an electrode in which a plurality of electrodes can be easily fixed to any portion of a human body is provided.

摘要: In the method of invention, the formability is imparted to the slurry of a metal or ceramic powder by employing a porous mold and removing the dispersion medium through the evaporation or thermal decomposition thereof, or by using a silazane oil as the dispersion medium and curing it by heating. Since the phase change usually accompanying volume change does not occur in the dispersion medium, strain and deformation rarely occur in the molded body. As result, the sintered body obtained has high dimensional accuracy.

摘要: A control device for an electric train formed of plural coupled carriages each of which receive power from an overhead power line via a collector, wherein each carriage is provided with a power converter for converting power from the overhead line to a suitable level for a load within the respective carriage. Each carriage also includes an auxiliary power supply device having an input coupled to the output of the power converter of the another carriage and an output coupled to an input of the power converter of the same carriage, so that if the power level from the overhead line to one carriage falls below a predetermined value, the power converter of that carriage is supplied with power from the power converter of another carriage through the intermediary of the auxiliary power supply device of the same carriage.

摘要: An ignition timing control method for an internal combustion engine having a catalytic exhaust emission purifier for scrubbing toxic exhaust gas components from engine exhaust gases by means of a catalyst, wherein the timing at which a mixture in the engine is ignited is controlled on the basis of an ignition timing set in dependence upon operating parameters of the engine. The method comprises the steps of sensing temperature of the engine after the engine is started, sensing elapsed time from the moment the engine is started when the sensed temperature lies within a predetermined temperature range, setting a delay angle correction amount in dependence upon the sensed elapsed time, correcting the ignition timing by the set delay angle correction amount, and controlling the ignition timing in accordance with the ignition timing so corrected. Preferably, the correction of the ignition timing is effected only when a particular operating condition of the engine is sensed.

摘要: An ignition timing control method for an internal combustion engine, which controls the ignition timing of a mixture to be supplied to the engine in a feedback manner responsive to the difference between the actual engine speed and the desired idling speed. When it is determined that the engine is in a predetermined idling region and the engine temperature is above a predetermined value, the ignition timing is retarded by a predetermined amount, and the ignition timing thus retarded is corrected by a correction value calculated by multiplying the difference between the actual engine speed and the desired idling speed by a predetermined coefficient, to thereby control the ignition timing to the ignition timing value thus corrected. The ignition timing feedback control is inhibited when the voltage at a predetermined input terminal of a central processing unit is at a predetermined input level.

摘要: The concentrations of NO and NO.sub.2 in nitrogen oxides contained in an exhaust gas are adjusted to substantially equal mol concentrations, whereupon the exhaust gas is held in contact with a metallic oxide catalyst together with ammonia. Owing to the adjustment of the NO and NO.sub.2 concentrations in the nitrogen oxides, the reaction rate is enhanced, and the nitrogen oxides are reduced even at a low temperature. The adjustment of the concentrations of NO and NO.sub.2 in the nitrogen oxides is done by the oxidation of NO with ozone, the catalytic oxidation of NO with air or oxygen, the addition of nitric acid, the addition of NO or NO.sub.2, etc.

摘要: A waste gas containing sulfur oxides is contacted with an adsorbent comprising an intimate mixture of an iron oxide and/or a copper oxide and a titanium oxide at a temperature of 250.degree.-500.degree. C. The sulfur oxides thus adsorbed are desorbed with a reducing gas and recovered as sulfur material. The efficiency of the adsorbent is not reduced even after many repetitions of the adsorption-desorption cycle. Since the adsorbent exhibits a high resistance to sulfuric acid mist (SO.sub.3) contained in the waste gas.
