摘要： A guide for guiding strap material from a dispenser to a strapper directs strap between the dispenser and strapper when in different positions in relation to each other. The guide includes an element having an open central passage defining a pathway for strap material to pass therethrough. The guide receives strap material in a first direction, and allows the strap material to exit in a second direction. The guide has bearing surfaces that define the passage so that when the strap material changes directions, there is minimal friction between the strap and the guide.

摘要： An electrical underground wire pulley for pulling wire through conduit having an opening in a base structure that is provided with pre-installed anchor bolts. The wire pulley includes a frame with a bottom adapter plate and a pair of side supports extending upwardly from the adapter plate. The adapter plate includes an opening through which the top of the conduit extends, and a set of four slots through which the anchor bolts extend for securing the wire pulley to the base. The slots are equally spaced from one another and extend lengthwise at 90 degrees radially outwardly from the conduit opening to accept anchor bolt patterns of different size. A pulley is rotatably supported between the side supports above and offset behind from the center of the conduit to assist in pulling wire through the conduit.

摘要： In a papermaking machine for forming tissue paper, a turning bar is disposed having a curved surface about which a web of tissue paper is turned. The bar has an internal air plenum which supplies air to two sets of holes or slots. The first set is arranged to direct air normal to the curved surface of the bar or in the machine direction, the second set is arranged to direct air toward the edges of the tissue which is turned around the bar. The second holes or slots produce air jets which apply a cross machine direction tension to the web which prevents wrinkling of the web. The first set of holes or slots forms jets of air that prevent the tissue web from contacting the turning bar.

摘要： An apparatus for guiding elongated items, such as cables, wires, hoses, and the like, onto or from spools. The apparatus includes two frame members that are pivotally and hand-releasably connected together to form an enclosed frame through which the elongated items are guided. A first pivotal and hand releasable connection is made between a first leg of the first frame member and a first leg of the second frame member. A second pivotal and hand-releasable connection is made between second legs of the frame members to provide a releasable opening of the enclosed frame. The releasable opening provides access to the enclosed frame for installation of the elongated item without requiring access to one of the ends of the elongated item to thread it through the enclosed frame. One of the frame members also includes provision for attachment to a mount, by which the enclosed frame is held in any of a plurality of selectable positions with respect to the mount.

摘要： Apparatus for guiding the winding of a line such as an electric cable onto a drum having a central axis. The guiding apparatus is positioned in front of the drum in the winding position thereof, and the drum has a winding action and a reciprocatory movement imparted thereto parallel to and relative to the axis of the drum. The guiding apparatus includes a joint coupled with a stand, a resiliently deflectable guiding arm having one end pivotable about the joint, and a guide mechanism arranged along the arm for guiding the conveyance of the cable. The cable extends in contact with the guide mechanism and along the arm and has an advancing speed of conveyance equal to or less than the drum winding speed. The resiliently deflectable guiding arm is resiliently deflectable in a plane at a right angle to the central axis of the reel.

摘要： The invention is a lifting device for use in lifting a load. The device is used for example between a crane hook and the lifting chains attached to the load. The device hooks onto the crane hook and the chain passes over a guide wheel which in one position, when the chain does not take the weight of the load, the wheel can turn freely enabling the device to be moved horizontally relative to the load to any desired location, and when the chain does take the load, the wheel is placed in a locked position so that it cannot turn and by this means the device can be positioned so as to ensure that when the load is lifted it will be in a predetermined position e.g. level. The wheel is carried by a spindle, the ends of which pass through slots in a pair of side plates of the device and when the device is loaded, the spindles rest on the bottoms of the slots ensuring that the plates take the load. The guide wheel has teeth of which adjacent teeth engage on opposite sides of a pin which prevents the wheel from turning but the pin is located so as not to be directly loaded by the load. When the device is unloaded, the teeth are moved clear of the pin and the wheel can rotate.

摘要： An adjustable wire guide for positioning wire within a given range of diameters on a predetermined intended centerline for the wire for feeding the wire into and/or out of equipment which will act upon or process the wire. It includes two pairs of rollers offset in parallel planes with each roller disposed at 90.degree. from an adjacent roller in another plane so that the wire passing through the guide is engaged at four locations equally spaced around it. Each of the rollers is moved through a camming plate and support structure towards or away from the intended centerline of the wire. The movement is achieved simultaneously through the use of spiral slots in the camming plate which receive pins on structural members supporting the rollers and move each of the rollers inward or outward the same amount with respect to the intended centerline of the wire.
