    Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to awake window (AW) protection. A device may identify a beacon frame received from a first device. The device may identify an information element associated with a first awake window (AW) within the beacon frame. The device may suspend one or more first backoff timers for a duration of the first AW. The device may associate a second backoff timer with a management frame.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a wireless station and method for controlling use of the 60 GHz band are described. The station (STA) can include memory and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to decode a packet received from a second STA via a microwave wireless channel. The packet includes information indicating that a millimeter wave wireless channel is unavailable for communication. A current geographic location and a mobility status for the second STA may be determined based on an authentication message originating from a third STA. The mobility status may indicate whether the second STA is moving or is stationary. The second STA may be authenticated based at least on the mobility status. Upon authenticating the second STA, usage of the millimeter wave wireless channel may be suspended for a pre-determined period of time.
