Abstract: A device may include a processor configured to establish a data traffic flow for a user equipment (UE) device and determine per flow descriptor attributes associated with the data traffic flow, wherein the per flow descriptor attributes identify at least a source, a destination, and a protocol associated with the data traffic flow. The processor may be further configured to determine at least one additional per flow descriptor attribute for the data traffic flow and send the per flow descriptor attributes and the at least one additional per flow descriptor attribute to a network exposure device of a core network, wherein the network exposure device is configured to communicate with servers outside the core network.

The network device may include an application function (AF) device. The network device may use the event notification to perform an operation relating to the network slice and/or the end device.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a registration area-based application exposure and network slice selection service is provided. The service may include the generation of multiple sets of allowed network slices based on a type of end device, current tracking area, and registration area information. The service may also include selecting one of the sets of allowed network slices based on a mobility pattern of the end device. The service may also translate allowed network slices, current tracking area and registration area information, and expose the translated information to an application function.

Abstract: A network device executing a Network Exposure Function (NEF) receives, from a requestor, an on-demand Subscription Concealed Identifier (SUCI) deconcealment request associated with a mobile network subscriber. The NEF sends a second SUCI deconcealment request to a network function (NF) in the mobile network, where the second SUCI deconcealment request includes a SUCI associated with the mobile network subscriber. The NEF receives, from the NF, a SUCI deconcealment response that includes a Subscription Permanent Identifier (SUPI), associated with the mobile network subscriber, decrypted from the SUCI by the NF, and forwards the SUCI deconcealment response to the requestor.

Abstract: A device may receive a request from a User Equipment (UE) device to enlist termination information for an application hosted on the UE device when either a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session or a Packet Data Network (PDN) session is established between the application and a network. In addition, the device may insert the termination information into a routing table on the device in response to receiving the request; receive data originating from the application on the UE device or from an application function (AF) node; translate the received data using the routing table; and forward the translated data to the application on the UE device or to the AF node.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide a short data, low latency service using a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) network. A network device receives, in a core network, an attach request from an end device and detect whether a packet size range for data transmissions from the end device is within a configured size threshold. The network device directs, when the packet size is within the configured size threshold, routing of the data transmissions via a control plane function of an edge network to a local instance of an application server in the edge network. The network device directs, when the packet size is over the configured size threshold, routing of the data transmissions via a user plane function of the edge network to a local instance of an application server in the edge network.
