Abstract:
The method for controlling a blowmolding machine during a process of making an object is disclosed. The machine includes a die head, a mandrel and an extruder that rotates and drives a plastic material between the mandrel and the die head to form a plurality of elongated parisons. The method comprises setting the distance between the die head and the mandrel and the rotation speed of the extruder to accomplish predetermined target values of the weight of the object and parison velocity. Plastic material is fed to the machine and the extruder is operated to form the parisons. A parameter related to the viscosity or melt index of the plastic material in the extruder is detected and the material distribution function and the speed of the extruder are adjusted in response to the parameter so that object weight and velocity of the parisons made are maintained substantially at target values.
Abstract:
Bleaching compositions are provided that comprise peracid activators. The peracid activators are ester derivatives of a carboxylic acid where the oxygen is covalently bound through a polyhydroxy linking group to a leaving group that is displaceable in a peroxygen bleaching solution by perhydroxide anion. When the peracid activator is combined with a source of peroxygen in aqueous solution, then a stain removing peracid is formed. One embodiment of the peracid activator has the structure ##STR1## where R' is a branched or linear C.sub.4-12 alkyl, n is 1 to about 7, and L is a leaving group.
Abstract:
A straight line capping machine is provided that wherein the cap tightening discs and the container grasping mechanism are synchronized to a predetermined relationship so as to prevent cocked caps, loose caps and/or scuffed caps. In particular, the mechanisms are synchronized to ensure that the tangential velocity of the rear cap tightening disc minus the tangential velocity of the front cap tightening disc is about twice the predetermined velocity of the container passing through the capping machine.
Abstract:
The insect bait composition in the present invention is useful for feeding stimuli to induce insects, especially cockroaches, to preferably feed upon said bait composition, which will stimulate insect feeding and successfully compete with other food sources in the environment, said stimulant bait composition having one or more protein sources derived from poultry liver, silkworm pupae and hydrogenated soy protein.
Abstract:
Substituted benzonitrile activators give excellent bleaching performance when combined with a peroxygen source and dissolved in solution. These substituted benzonitrile activators give best bleaching performance when the activators are multiply substituted with electron-withdrawing groups.
Abstract:
A dual cap lining for bi-directional venting comprising a substantially shaped, laminated or secured, fluid-impermeable, gas-permeable material bottom layer congruent with a container opening, and having an extruded and cast polyethylene material top layer which is provided with channels on the lower surface of the top layer, and the material of construction of the laminated bottom layer is gas-permeable such that the dual lining allows bi-directional gas flow therethrough, for gases which have built-up in the interior of the connected container to safely escape by venting from the interior of the container to the external ambient atmosphere through openings existing between the spiral screw threads of the cap closure and threads of the container neck, and the reverse venting to equilibrate for relatively increased external pressure, without passage of solid or liquid material from the interior of the container through the lining to the closure and to the exterior of the container.
Abstract:
The invention provides an aqueous, hard surface cleaner with significantly improved residue removal and substantially reduced filming/streaking, said cleaner comprising:(a) an effective amount of a solvent selected from C.sub.1-6 alkanol, C.sub.3-24 alkylene glycol ether, and mixtures thereof;(b) an effective amount of a surfactant selected from amphoteric, nonionic and anionic surfactants, and mixtures thereof;(c) an effective amount of a buffering system which comprises a nitrogenous buffer selected from the group consisting of:ammonium or alkaline earth carbamates, guanidine derivatives, alkoxylalkylamines and alkyleneamines; and(d) the remainder as substantially all water.
Abstract:
The invention provides a cleaning agent and method for removing stains from fabrics comprising a combination of dense gas, a source of hydrogen peroxide and an organic bleach activator therefor.
