Abstract:
A run flat tire wheel assembly having a flat run support formed by a ring-shaped metal shell and rubbery elastic members in a tire rim cavity, said tire wheel assembly improving bondability between the ring-shaped metal shell and rubbery elastic members by making said rubbery elastic member from a rubber composition including 100 parts by weight of a diene-based rubber, 40 to 90 parts by weight of carbon black, 3 to 8 parts by weight of sulfur, 0.1 to 1 part by weight of an organic acid cobalt salt in terms of content of cobalt element, 0.1 to 3 parts by weight of a phenylene-diamine-based antiaging agent, and 1 to 6 parts by weight of a resol-type alkylphenol resin.
Abstract:
A vehicle tire is constructed to include a main tire member, the main tire member having two inward lips, and two annular supplementary tire members respectively fastened to the inward lips of the main tire member and adapted to support the main tire member in shape when damaged accidentally.
Abstract:
A run-flat tire-wheel assembly having, in an inside cavity of the tire/rim, a run-flat support formed by a ring-shaped metal shell and rubber elastic members wherein the contact surfaces of the ring-shaped metal shell and the rubber elastic members are coated with an organic solvent-based adhesive, whereby the bondability between the ring-shaped metal shell and rubber elastic members is improved.
Abstract:
A safety insert designed to be mounted in an assembly comprising a tire and a rim of a vehicle and device for detecting the bearing of the tire on an insert, so that the insert generates signals oriented parallel to the axis of rotation of the tire and rim assembly and so that the device detects and analyzes the vibrating signals of the chassis of the vehicle.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a rim member having an internal support member associated with the rim member. The internal support member includes an outer peripheral surface having an annular groove with the groove having a transverse passageway to permit a tire to be mounted onto the rim member. The transverse passageway consists of two angular positions which communicate through an intermediate section on the internal support member. The invention also relates to a tire construction having an internal rolling surface which engages the outer peripheral surface of the internal support member during the run-flat condition.
Abstract:
A support for a tire tread band comprising an outer portion for contacting a tread and a base, wherein the base comprises a reinforcement framework having at least two plies of reinforcement elements. Each of the plies has mutually parallel reinforcement elements, and said elements are crossed from one ply to a next ply. The support further comprising a polymer material having a modulus greater than 30 MPa.
Abstract:
A device to prevent the full collapse of a pneumatic tire on vehicles and large aircraft includes three arcuate portions for cooperatively fitting over a tire rim to provide an underlying support surface for a tire carcass subsequent to losing air or gas pressure. The three arcuate band portions releasably couple together for mounting on the drop well of a tire rim to form a substantially continuous surface. The invention also has protective coverings removably disposed on the outer radial extent of the band portions. The protective coverings are provided with frictional means for engaging the inner wall of the tire to prevent circumferential or lateral displacement of the tire carcass during rotation of the wheel. An insert may be placed between the band and the drop well to position the band.
Abstract:
Wheel rim comprising two rim seats having different diameters, inclined outwards and extended axially outwards by two humps of small height, the rim seat of smaller diameter being connected axially on the inside to a bearing surface via a truncated conical portion and the rim seat of larger diameter being connected axially on the inside to the said bearing surface by a rib of small or zero height, whose axially interior wall has a generatrix that makes with the rotation axis an angle open radially and axially outwards and at the most equal to 30null, characterised in that the said rib, which has an axially inside wall of axial width at most equal to the axial width of the said second seat is provided circumferentially with at least two transverse grooves of small size.
Abstract:
A flat-proof rim for a pneumatic tire of a wheel is disclosed. The flat-proof rim includes a circular rim body having an outer periphery. A plurality of spaced linkages are arranged along and movably connected to the outer periphery of the rim body, and each have a hoof adapted to be movable between a radially inner position and a radially outer position relative to the rim body. In addition, there is provided an apparatus for driving the linkages so that the hoofs are moved from the radially inner positions to the radially outer positions when the pneumatic tire is deflated while the wheel is rotated at a high speed.
Abstract:
A runflat system for a motor vehicle, comprising a non-standard one-piece rim having at least a first peripheral cavity or drop center to enable a tire to be mounted on the rim, and a runflat device for mounting on the rim inside the tire, said device being constituted by a rigid ring split into at least two circularly arcuate elements or sectors, wherein the rim has at least one second peripheral cavity which is separated from the first cavity by an intermediate peripheral ridge, wherein each sector of the ring has a radially inner portion for being received in the second cavity of the rim, and wherein the system also comprises means for fixing the sectors in the second cavity of the rim.
