    Abstract: A transmission is provided for use with an associated vehicle having an engine and a drive axle. The transmission has power input means for receiving power from the engine, a hydrostatic unit and first gearing means for communicating power from the power input means to the drive axle, a PTO shaft having first and second ends for use in selectively driving first and second associated implements, second gearing means for communicating power from the power input means to the PTO shaft and, a housing for holding the first and second gearing means as well as the PTO shaft.     Abstract: A mower deck is disclosed that utilizes an auxiliary source of pressurized air in order to avoid clipping buildup under the mowing deck, most particularly at the trailing edge of the discharge chute. The auxiliary source of air comes through a cloverleaf shaped hole in the mower deck. The spindle is mounted to the mower deck through this hole, as in conventional mowers. However, unlike conventional mowers, because the hole in the mower deck has a cloverleaf configuration air can flow through the corner portions of the cloverleaf configured hole and act as an auxiliary source of air even though the spindle is mounted to the mower deck through the hole.

    Abstract: A shaft alignment apparatus includes a first bearing block having a first opening for receiving a first associated shaft, a first housing member having a first slot for receiving the first bearing block, a second housing member and fastening means for fastening the first housing member to the second housing member. The first housing member has a junction surface lying on a junction plane and an internal base surface lying on a base plane. The first associated shaft is positioned between the base plane and junction plane of the first housing member. To align a first associated shaft, its first end is mounted into an opening in a first bearing block. The second end of the first associated shaft is then mounted into an opening in a second bearing block.     Abstract: A lawn mower has a grass bag assembly and a chute assembly. The grass bag assembly has a grass bag for holding lawn debris, a grass bag door for releasing stored lawn debris from the grass bag, a support rod connected to the handle bar of the mower, and support pins connected to the body of the mower. The chute assembly has a chute which is used to transport the lawn debris from the body of the mower to the grass bag, and a chute door. As the grass bag is lifted off the apparatus body, it causes the chute door to pivot about the chute. The pivoting chute door moves the extended pull rope of the mower out of the way of the grass bag. The grass bag can then be fully removed from the apparatus body and emptied of its lawn debris. Finally, the chute door is raised so that the empty grass bag can be repositioned onto the apparatus body.

    Abstract: An electric appliance control system is provided for use with an electric power unit such as an electric lawn mower. The electric appliance control system includes a battery, a selectively operable switch, a relay having first and second contacts, a control means, a charger circuit and an operator presence switch. The relay is operable by the switch to connect the electric power unit to the battery. The first and second contacts of the relay pass amperage therethrough between the battery and the electric power unit. The first contact is normally open and the second contact is normally closed. The control means includes a negative temperature coefficient thermistor in series with the first contact and multiple thermistors arranged in parallel and utilized in series with the second contact. The negative temperature coefficient thermistor variably increases the amperage passing through the first contact of the relay upon the selective operation of the switch to connect the electric power unit to the battery. The operator presence switch is positioned in series with the charger circuit and the battery.
