Data of a moving image has a hierarchical structure comprising a 0-th layer, a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer in a z axis direction. Each layer is composed of moving image data of a single moving image expressed in different resolutions. Both the coordinates of a viewpoint at the time of the display of a moving image and a corresponding display area are determined in a virtual three-dimensional space formed by an x axis representing the horizontal direction of the image, a y axis representing the vertical direction of the image, and a z axis representing the resolution. By providing a switching boundary for layers with respect to the z axis, the layers of the moving image data used for frame rendering are switched in accordance with the value of z of the frame coordinates.

The content image display unit moves the content images according to a moving instruction acquired by the first reception unit or the second reception unit. A related information display unit displays different types of related information when the first reception unit acquires the first moving instruction and when the second reception unit acquires the second moving instruction.

An input device for interfacing with a computing device is provided. The input device includes a body configured to be held within a human hand. The input device includes a light emitting diode (LED) affixed to the body and a power supply for the LED. A mode change activator is integrated into the body, where the mode change activator is configured to cause a change of a color of a light originating from the LED. The color change is capable of being detected to cause a mode change at the computing device. Methods for detecting input commands from an input source within a field of sight of an image capture device, and a computing system which includes the input device are provided.

An image processing apparatus includes an auxiliary storage device 19 stored first data of a given object image higher in LOD level, a main memory 11 stored second data of the given object image lower in the LOD level than the first data, a CPU 10, and a GPU 18. The CPU 10 calculates an apparent speed of the object image on a screen, and determines data to be used in the geometry processing of the object image to one of the first data and the second data in accordance with the apparent speed. The GPU 18 takes in the first data (or the second data) from the auxiliary storage device 19 (or the main memory 11) to conduct the rendering process in the case where the geometry processing is conducted by using the first data (or the second data).

An invention is provided for digital image selection and previewing in a digital camera environment. Image selection parameters are obtained, where the image selection parameters define specific properties of a digital image. A plurality of digital images is filtered based on the image selection parameters to generate a subset of the plurality of digital images. The subset includes digital images having the specific properties defined by the image selection parameters. Optionally, the digital images included in the subset can be prioritized and/or categorized based on the selection parameters. In addition, in one aspect, image view commands can be received and a plurality of views of a particular digital image generated based on the image view commands. These views can then be displayed to a user.

A depth of field rendering apparatus, method and program displays a sense of distance using a Z buffer to establish a depth direction of objects in an image and generating an image in a just-in-focus state while writing a Z value of each of dots in the image into the Z-buffer. A blurred image is produced from the just-in-focus image and portions of the blurred image are selectively overwritten on the just-in-focus image by comparing a preset Z value to the Z value of each of the data in the Z buffer.

A general-purpose serial operation pipeline realizes a complicated processing flow with an extemporaneous and explosive amount of operations with respect to various data sizes. A plurality of arithmetic-logic circuits (SALCs) that are controlled individually, and that can be operated together with another arithmetic-logic circuit (SALC) are connected in a cascade manner to form a serial operation pipeline. At least one of the plural SALCs includes a line for outputting data from an upstream SALC to a downstream SALC, a line for feeding back reverse data from the downstream SALC to the upstream SALC, and latch circuits for latching the data on the respective lines, thereby being capable of feeding back data from an arbitrary SALC to another SALC.

An operating device is capable of both digital operation and analog operation by using a pressing operation continuously. The operating device has detecting elements (e.g., pressure-sensitive elements) for outputting analog signals according to the pressing operations of operators, and is configured such that the analog signals output from the detecting elements are subjected to level dividing by a level dividing unit and converted into multi-bit digital signals corresponding to the output levels thereof by an A/D converting unit. The operating device is also configured so as to output single-bit digital signals according to a change in the analog signals output from the detecting element. A switching unit outputs one or the other of the multi-bit digital signals and single-bit digital signals.
