Abstract:
An image transfer system for use in an indirect printer includes a support roller for a transfix roller. The support roller is configured to apply pressure to a center portion of a nip formed between a transfix roller and an imaging drum while the transfix roller applies pressure to the ends of the nip. This configuration is particularly advantageous for use with imaging drums and transfix rollers having thin walls.
Abstract:
A thin wall ink image receiving member enables the ink image receiving member to reach operational temperatures from a cold state more quickly than image receiving members used in previously known printers. The thin wall image receiving member includes at least one annular support member fixedly mounted against the inner surface of the cylindrical wall to enable the image receiving member to provide adequate pressure in a nip formed with a transfix roller to transfer an ink image from the image receiving member to media in the nip.
Abstract:
A self-collimator planar spectroscopy shaping device for chirped pulse amplification (CPA): uses a spectrum decomposing system with CTSI construction, a spectrum synthesizing system with CTSI structure that is symmetrical to the decomposing structure, and a spectrum shaping system including an aperture and a planar reflector for spectrum shaping function design. The device accomplishes the following functions: firstly decomposing the spectrum of a chirped temporal pulse laser to a spectral domain; then shaping the spectrum in the spectral domain; finally synthesizing un-shiftily this shaped spectrum in the spectral domain into a temporal chirped pulse with a designed shape. The device has features of small size of concave reflector, easy fabrication, compact construction, little laboratory space needed, and cheap in cost, which it can be different types of configuration for different circumstance application, which it can be not only utilized in a general laser spectrum shaping and spectrum modulation, but also can be utilized for a high energy and ultra-high peak-power laser system in chirped pulse amplification with a large caliber and with a chirped pulse bandwidth of a few nanometers.
Abstract:
A transfix roller is adapted for use with a thin walled image receiving member in an indirect printer. The transfix roller is centrally supported to present a more uniform pressure profile in the nip formed with the image receiving member. An interference fit between the central shaft and the roller sleeve enables the transfix roller to be made without an additional process to secure the shaft to the sleeve.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are emissive ceramic elements having low amounts of certain trace elements. Applicants have surprisingly found that a lower internal quantum efficiency (IQE) may be attributed to specific trace elements that, even at very low amounts (e.g., 50 ppm or less), can cause significant deleterious effects on IQE. In some embodiments, the emissive ceramic element includes a garnet host material and an amount of Ce dopant. The emissive ceramic element may, in some embodiments, have an amount of Na in the composition less than about 67 ppm, an amount of Mg in the composition less than about 23 ppm, or an amount of Fe in the composition less than about 21 ppm.
Abstract:
Apparatuses useful in printing and methods of fixing marking materials onto media are disclosed. An exemplary apparatus useful in printing includes a first roll including a first shaft and a first surface; a second roll including an axially-extending inner portion including a second shaft; an axially-extending outer portion over the inner portion; at least a first annular gap and a second annular gap extending axially between the inner portion and the outer portion, the first annular gap being axially spaced from the second annular gap; and a second surface forming a nip with the first surface. The inner portion and the outer portion of the second roll bend in opposite directions when the first roll and the second roll are loaded by applying a first force to the first shaft in a first direction and applying a second force to the second shaft in a second direction opposite to the first direction.
Abstract:
A method for combining data values through associative operations. The method includes, with a processor, arranging any number of data values into a plurality of columns according to natural parallelism of the associative operations and reading each column to a register of an individual processor. The processors are directed to combine the data values in the columns in parallel using a first associative operation. The results of the first associative operation for each column are stored in a register of each processor.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for checking the correctness of GIS data. The method includes the steps of: receiving GIS data; receiving business data of each branch; determining the geographic area to which each branch belongs, wherein the GIS data in the geographic area will be checked; and, checking whether the GIS data of the geographic area to which each branch belongs are correct based on the business data of each branch. The method and apparatus can automatically check geographic and demographic data of a given city or region.
Abstract:
A ceramic composite laminate includes a wavelength-converting layer and a non-emissive layer, wherein the ceramic composite laminate has a wavelength conversion efficiency (WCE) of at least 0.650. The ceramic composite laminate can also include a wavelength-converting ceramic layer comprising an emissive material and a scattering material, wherein the laminated composite has a total transmittance of between about 40% to about 85%. The wavelength-converting layer may be formed from plasma YAG:Ce powder.
