Abstract:
A spherical flywheel is described and specified that stores rotational energy more efficiently than cylindrical flywheels. The spherical flywheel is composed of multiple layers of material with the densest material at the surface. The flywheel surface is dimpled with a pattern similar to golf ball surfaces, to minimize aerodynamic drag.

Abstract:
A system, apparatus and method for processing this flat articles, such as semiconductor wafers, with acoustical energy. In a cleaning process, the inventive system, apparatus and method can remove particles from both sides of a wafer more efficiently and effectively. in one aspect, the invention is a system for processing flat articles comprising: a rotatable support for supporting a flat article; a first dispenser for applying liquid to a first surface of a flat article on the rotatable support; a second dispenser for applying liquid to a second surface of a flat article on the rotatable support; a first transducer assembly comprising a first transducer for generating acoustic energy and a first transmitter acoustically coupled to the first transducer, the first transducer assembly positioned so that when the first dispenser applies liquid to the first surface of a flat article on the rotatable support, a first meniscus of liquid is formed between a portion of the first transmitter and the first surface of the flat article; and a second transducer assembly comprising a second transducer for generating acoustic energy and a second transmitter acoustically coupled to the second transducer, the second transducer assembly positioned so that when the second dispenser applies liquid to the second surface of the flat article on the rotatable support, a second meniscus of liquid is formed between a portion of the second transmitter and the second surface of the flat article.
Abstract:
A thrust bearing arrangement (2) is provided having a roller body cage (4) holding several roller bodies (6) and at least one race disk (8′, 10″), with the race disk (8′, 10″) having a collar (12) axially surrounding the roller body cage (4) with play and on the opposite end a flange arrangement, which is directed in the opposite axial direction and in whose internal corner a component contacting the race disk (8′, 10″) can be centered. To avoid complicated processing of the peripheral edge of the contacting component facing the internal corner (22′), at least the leg (19′, 27) of the internal corner (22′, 30) forming the flange arrangement (18′, 26) has a relieved inner contour for receiving the component to be centered in the corner region.

The method further includes inserting at least one seal between the combustor end cover plate body and the fuel nozzle insert sub-assembly body as well as inserting at least one seal between the combustor end cover plate body and the fuel nozzle insert sub-assembly body. The method also includes coupling the fuel nozzle insert sub-assembly to the combustor end cover plate body. The method further includes inserting at least one bellows onto a bellows support fitting and inserting the bellows support fitting onto a fuel nozzle insert sub-assembly body support surface. The method also includes assembling a fuel nozzle sub-assembly. The method further includes assembling a fuel nozzle assembly by coupling the fuel nozzle sub-assembly to the combustor end cover plate body.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic radiation decoupler for decoupling radiation in the wavelength range λmin to λmax. The decoupler has a first conductor layer in contact with a dielectric layer which comprises at least one area of absence and the thickness of the decoupler is less than λmin/4n, where n is the refractive index of the dielectric. The dielectric layer may be sandwiched between two conductor layers, one of which has the structure described above. The invention is also directed to methods of using and various articles comprising such a decoupler.

Abstract:
A process of management of printing devices at distributed sites, comprising providing a database portal accessible continuously, the portal giving a visual display of performance of the printing devices compared with predetermined targets for key performance indicators. A process of preparing for and implementing management of printing devices located at distributed sites carried out by a contractor for a client, comprising: the step of the contractor negotiating with the client key performance indicators applicable for the duration of a management service contract and including targets for the key performance indicators, and rewards and penalties for performance of the printing devices against those targets, and the step of the contractor periodically monitoring the key performance indicators to provide the client with an indication of performance against the targets. A process of management of printing devices at geographically distributed sites within a client organisation, carried out exclusively by a contractor under a management contract, comprising allocating a contract manager in the contractor organisation and dedicating that contract manager to the task of managing all the client's printing devices over a plurality of the distributed sites, whereby the contract manager regularly monitors the status and usage of the printing devices and associated software and services and consumables supplies, regularly seeks to optimise their overall performance against predetermined key performance indicators including cost, implements changes over the period of the management contract to optimise performance, and regularly provides reports to the client organisation.
