Abstract: The present invention provides a method of transmitting broadcast signals. The method includes, formatting input streams into Data Pipe, DP, data; Low-Density Parity-Check, LDPC, encoding the DP data according to a code rate; bit interleaving the LDPC encoded DP data; mapping the bit interleaved DP data onto constellations according to one of QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation), NUQ (Non-Uniform QAM) or NUC (Non-Uniform Constellation); Multi-Input Multi-Output, MIMO, encoding the mapped DP data by using a MIMO encoding matrix having a MIMO encoding parameter; building at least one signal frame by mapping the MIMO encoded DP data; and modulating data in the built signal frame by an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, OFDM, method and transmitting the broadcast signals having the modulated data.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a broadcast signal transmitter. A broadcast signal transmitter according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an input formatting module configured to perform baseband formatting and to output the data of at least one Physical Layer Pipe (PLP), a BICM module configured to perform error-correction processing on the PLP data, a framing and interleaving module configured to interleave the PLP data and to generate a signal frame, and a waveform generation module configured to insert a preamble into the signal frame and to generate a broadcast signal by performing OFDM modulation.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for transmitting broadcast signal. The method for transmitting a broadcast signal according to the present invention comprises the steps of: demultiplexing at least one input stream into a plurality of DPs (Data Pipes) wherein the step of demultiplexing includes the steps of dividing the input stream into a plurality of DPs in which data of the plurality of DPs include one or more consecutive input packets, segmenting the data of the plurality of DPs into data units each having the same length as that of a payload of a BB frame, cyclic-shifting the input packets of the divided data, allocating the cyclic-shifted input packets to the payload of the BB frame, and inserting a header before the payload of the BB frame; and processing and transmitting the data of the plurality of DPs per DP.
