Abstract:
Network architectural roles of packet switching devices are automatically determined by retrieving and analyzing configuration information of the packet switching devices. The retrieved configuration information typically includes operational details of the packet switching operations performed by the packet switching device, with these retrieved operational details being analyzed in order to identify one or more network architectural roles being performed by a particular packet switching device. Examples of such identified network architectural role include, but are not limited to, a customer edge device, a provider edge device, and a user-facing provider edge device. Knowing the architectural role performed by a packet switching device is useful for operations, administration, maintenance and provisioning of networks of these packet switching devices.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a Don't Disturb Service management system and implementation thereof. The system includes a Don't Disturb Service management center and a subscriber identify module with the Don't Disturb function. In the Don't Disturb Service management center, a content management device records the content of messages and sets attributes for each recorded message; a downlink instruction sending and processing device selects the corresponding message from the content management device according to the service identifier included in the service request up-sent by the subscriber identify module, and constructs the data short messages to be sent, with the content and attribute of the selected message and its attributes in the predetermined format. In the subscriber identify module with Don't Disturb function, a downlink instruction receiving and processing device stores the complete information included in the received data messages into the designated storage file; the interface output device is used to send the information belonging to a category to a user according to the attributes of message stored in said storage file when the user finds out said category.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a micro-pump having at least one channel on a substrate where the channel has an inlet and an outlet. The micro-pump includes a first and second electrode coupled to the substrate, wherein the electrodes deliver a current that produces an electric field across the substrate to create a flow from the inlet to the outlet of a fluid contained in the channel. The micro-pump also includes an ion-specific membrane housing for the electrode reservoir minimizes bubble generation, fluid leakage and pressure loss. Further, at least a portion of the channel contains a chemically formed porous matrix.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a method and system of allowing the user-defined code to be written in such a way as to be independent on the underlying transport yet still send and receive information via transport-specific artifacts. As such, a user may not be required to develop unique code for each different transport. A developer may set user-defined transport-agnostic properties and associated values without concerning an underlying transport. A deployer will provide an external mapping of those user-defined transport-agnostic properties to one or more specific transports which are to be supported. The system may allow new or different transports to be supported by the user-defined code without requiring the developer to change the user-defined code. Only the mapping information decoupled from the user-defined properties may need to be changed for different transports.
Abstract:
A circuit interrupter comprises a pair of fixed contact strips, a pair of load contact strips, a pair of movable contact strips, a reset component, a movable component, and a tripping component that contains a reset contact. Each of the fixed contact strips has a fixed contact. Each of the load contact strips has a load contact. Each of the movable contact strips has a fixed end and a movable end. Each movable end has a first movable contact arranged for contacting one of the corresponding load contacts and a second movable contact arranged for contacting one of the corresponding fixed contacts. The movable component disposed to sustain the movable ends of the movable contact strips, the movable component capable of either being latched with or released from the reset component to move between a first position where the first movable contacts are separated from the load contacts, and the second movable contacts are separated from the fixed contacts, and the movable contact strips are not electrically coupled to the reset contact, a second position where the first movable contacts are separated from the load contacts, and the second movable contacts are separated from the fixed contacts, and at least one of the movable contact strips is electrically coupled to the reset contact, and a third position where the first movable contacts make contact with the corresponding load contacts, and the second movable contacts make contact with the corresponding fixed contacts, and the movable contact strips are not electrically coupled to the reset contact. The tripping component is capable of latching the reset component with the movable component for the movable component to move to the third position upon detection of a reset request and releasing the reset component from the movable component for movable component to move to the first position upon detection of a fault condition.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a brush having a one-piece body comprised of a handle and at one end thereof a head provided with bristles, wherein the brush body comprises a mixture of first polymer and a second polymer that is of a lesser hardness than the first polymer, wherein the ratio of the first polymer to the second polymer is from about 95:5 to about 30:70.
Abstract:
The invention claims a class of adenovirus vectors for delivering recombinases to a large number of cells of different origins, and methods for regulating the expression of a gene in transfected mammalian cells in culture and in cells of transgenic animals, comprising infecting said cells with an Ad vector encoding a recombinase whose target site is present at or adjacent to the gene, wherein the action of the recombinase regulates the expression of said gene.
Abstract:
An approach is provided for managing network device configuration data by functional area. Functional areas supported by a network device are determined. A determination is also made whether a client and the network device support compatible configuration application program interfaces (APIs) for each functional area supported by the network device. User interface objects are generated and displayed on a graphical user interface (GUI). Each user interface object corresponds to one of the functional areas that is supported by the network device and for which the client and network device have compatible configuration APIs. A set of bulk editing functions allows changes to be readily made to multiple configuration data objects and to facilitate creating new configuration data objects.
