Abstract: One example radio frequency (RF) site controller is configured to communicate with a first communication device over a control channel to establish a traffic channel over which the first communication device is configured to communicate with a second communication device. The RF site controller may control the control channel to switch between operating in (i) a keyed state (in other words a full-power state) for a first dynamic period of time and (ii) a de-keyed state (in other words, a lower-powered state) for a second dynamic period of time. At least one of the first dynamic period of time and the second dynamic period of time may be based on a characteristic of at least one of a group consisting of a coverage area being serviced by the RF site controller and one or more communication devices being serviced by the RF site controller.

Abstract: A device, system and method for installing encrypted data are provided. The processor is configured to: receive an encrypted common protection key, encrypted using a manufacturing protection key, and an encrypted distribution private key, encrypted using a common protection key; obtain the manufacturing protection key using the preconfigured trust anchor data and the preconfigured non-exportable data; decrypt the encrypted common protection key using the manufacturing protection key to obtain the common protection key; decrypt the encrypted distribution private key using the common protection key to obtain a distribution private key; receive an encrypted data package including image-at-rest data encrypted with an image-at-rest key, the encrypted data package including encryption data for obtaining the image-at-rest key using the distribution private key; and install the encrypted data package at the memory.

Abstract: A process for scheduling downloads for communication devices connected to a download server through a common access point. In operation, the download server receives a download request from a first communication device. The download request includes a unique access point identifier of a first access point through which the first communication device is connected to the download server. The download server identifies an access point record that is linked to the unique access point identifier of the first access point and updates the identified access point record to include the first communication device in a communication devices list included in the identified access point record. When a count of communication devices included in the communication devices list is greater than the predetermined count threshold, the download server delays an execution of a download service corresponding to the download request received from the first communication device.

Abstract: When a land mobile radio connection to a land mobile radio network is unavailable for a land mobile radio subscriber device, the subscriber device may connect to an alternative network using an alternative connection. The subscriber device may send a copy of a scan list to a gateway configured to perform remote scan and priority operations, similar to the scan operations the subscriber device may ordinarily perform locally. Using the received scan list, the gateway may evaluate the call notifications, determine whether they should be sent to the subscriber device, and send them to the subscriber device over the alternative connection to the alternative network. The subscriber device may receive call notifications over the alternative connection and join active radio calls over the alternative connection. The subscriber device may be able to alter remote scan and priority operations by dynamically altering and sending the scan list over the alternative connection.

Abstract: An analysis engine of an anomaly detection system receives a communication associated with an inmate in a correctional facility, evaluates a keyword identified within the communication using an anomaly detection model, and determines whether the keyword is an anomaly indicating a potential activity associated with the inmate. In response to determining that the keyword is an anomaly, the analysis engine generates an alert for the anomaly, determines an authority to notify, and notifies the authority with the generated alert. The analysis engine may receive a feedback rating for the anomaly and may update the anomaly detection model using the feedback rating. In this way the accuracy of the anomaly detection system may be improved over time. The anomaly detection models may include general data, inmate-specific data, and parameters associated with the data. The parameters associated with the data may include a weight parameter or a threshold value.

Abstract: Systems and methods for multiple mode push-to-x group calls. One example embodiment provides a push-to-X server. The push-to-X server includes a communication interface communicatively coupled to a communication network and an electronic processor. The electronic processor receives, via a unicast uplink channel, a group call request from a first subscriber unit of the communication network. The electronic processor receives, from the first subscriber unit, a push-to-X data stream. The electronic processor receives a unicast channel request from a second subscriber unit of the communication network. In response to receiving the unicast channel request, the electronic processor establishes a unicast channel resource with the second subscriber unit. The electronic processor transmits the push-to-X data stream to the second subscriber unit via the unicast channel resource and transmits the push-to-X data stream to a plurality of subscriber units via a broadcast media bearer channel.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for correcting a wrongly-translated word in a device employing speech recognition is provided herein. During operation, a device will use a second language to correct a wrongly-translated word that was wrongly translated using a first language. More particularly, after speech recognition is performed using the first language, when a user selects text to be corrected, the user will utter the speech again using the second language that differs from the first language. Both the first and the second language can be used by the device to determine a best translation of the speech.
