Abstract:
A device which is suitable for treating a fluid comprises an elongated foil formed of a plurality of foil layers arranged in zigzag fashion, wherein a first foil layer is connected to a second foil layer at a first end. The second foil layer is connected to a third foil layer at a second end remote from the first end. Spacers are arranged between said foil layers. The spacer comprises a mesh-like layer, through which fluid can flow in the plane of the mesh-like layer as well as transversely to the plane of the mesh-like layer.
Abstract:
A filter assembly for a motor-vehicle air cleaner comprises a main filter, an auxiliary filter set apart from the main filter, and a filter mount fixed to and configured to support the main filter and the auxiliary filter. In this embodiment, the filter mount is fittable in and removable from a housing of the air cleaner, and comprises a sealing element passing between the main filter and the auxiliary filter.
Abstract:
An air filter for internal combustion engines and interiors of motor vehicles has a filter insert in the form of a bellows of filter material folded in a zigzag shape by a first folding, wherein the bellows has a plurality of neighboring pockets extending in a longitudinal direction of the bellows, wherein between the pockets first folds are formed at ridges between the pockets. A seal is connected to the bellows. The folded filter material has a second folding in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction and second folds are formed by the second folding that extend substantially transversely to the longitudinal direction. End faces extending transversely to the longitudinal direction are formed by cutting the bellows to a desired length. The seal extends across the end faces and longitudinal sides of the bellows.
Abstract:
A filter device having a vent device for inhibiting formation of a vacuum in the filter device. The filter device includes a drum for receiving the liquid wherein the drum includes a drum headspace. The filter device also includes filter sets for filtering the liquid. The drum is rotated to enable cleaning of filter media. The filter device also includes a frame having spaced apart supports for supporting each of the filter sets. A fluid passageway extends between the supports, wherein the fluid passageway provides fluid communication between the tank headspace and a filter set to vent a filter set.
Abstract:
A filter device for filtering a liquid which includes trash. The device includes a drum for receiving the liquid and trash, wherein the drum includes at least one drum aperture. The device further includes a first pair of filter panels which are adapted for filtering the liquid. The filter panels are spaced apart to form a cavity for receiving the liquid and trash. The device further includes a frame for supporting the filter panels, wherein the frame is coupled to the drum. The frame includes a frame aperture wherein the frame aperture and the cavity form a volume having a cross sectional area sized substantially equal to or greater than the drum aperture and wherein said volume extends to a second pair of filter panels to enable liquid and trash which pass through the drum aperture to also pass through the frame aperture to the second pair of filter panels.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of manufacturing filter cartridges are disclosed, the system including a tube of laminated and seamed filter media, a media unwind mechanism, a mandrel having a starting point operatively positioned proximate the media unwind mechanism, structure, operatively positioned proximate the mandrel, for feeding the tube of laminated and seamed filter media into the starting point of the mandrel, structure, operatively positioned in the mandrel, for pressurizing the tube of laminated and seamed filter media with a gas, structure, operatively positioned in the mandrel, for expanding the tube of laminated and seamed filter media into a substantially cylindrical shape as the tube of laminated and seamed filter media passes over the mandrel, a pleater mechanism, operatively positioned proximate the mandrel, a blade mechanism, operatively associated with the pleater mechanism, for alternately engaging the tube of laminated and seamed filter media with the blade mechanism, structure, operatively positioned proximate the pleater mechanism, for moving newly formed pleated filter media downstream; and structure for compressing the tube of laminated and seamed filter media radially toward the mandrel. Methods of manufacturing filter cartridges are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A filter bag assembly includes an outer bag having an open end, a closed end opposite the open end, and a longitudinal axis. The open end of the outer bag is sized and shaped for receiving liquid to be filtered. A filter member is loosely mounted in the outer bag and has a pair of opposed open ends and a plurality of longitudinally extending pleats. Each of the pleats projects generally outwardly in a radial direction.

Abstract:
A fuel filtration device includes a filter medium in which at least two opposing surfaces are formed, an inner portion space that is surrounded by the filter medium and where liquid accumulates, and a connecting member that connects the inner portion space and the outer portion and delivers the liquid in the inner portion space to the outer portion. The filter medium is a non-woven fabric made of material fibers and adhesive fibers, and by melting the adhesive fibers, the fibers are joined.
Abstract:
A filter product includes a filtration media combined with a multi-component frame assembly that can effectively support the filtration media in place proximal to its edges and in accordance with its desired orientation and wherein the assembly can be selectively taken apart to provide access to the filtration media by way of a releasable lock connection. Preferably, a snap-fit releasable locking system is incorporated within the frame design. The present invention is particularly applicable to filtration media comprising pleated filtration media. Such support features include rack-like media engagement elements, which elements are advantageously provided so as to preferably engage the filtration media proximal to its side and end edges from above and below to preferably compress and ensure an effective seal and support connection between the frame and the filtration media. Such a construction is further beneficial for supporting filtration media that includes a layer or other loading of particulate matter therein. The media engagement elements are spaced along the side of a support frame and a hold down frame and the side frame elements include sidewalls in combination. The sidewalls are spaced from the media engagement elements so as to support and preferable compress the filtration media inward from its side and end edges to support and effectively contain the filtration media and any particulate material therein.
