    Abstract: An implement hydraulic circuit including a pilot operated flow amplifier directional valve for controlling communication between a source of primary actuating fluid and a hydraulic motor. A pair of valve spools in the valve provide separate regulated flow paths for an inlet passage and an outlet passage respectively with a pair of work ports. An actuating chamber is associated with one end of each of the spools and may each be selectively communicated with a separate source of pilot fluid for actuation of either of the spools to communicate the primary source with either side of the motor. The other spool is positioned by fluid displaced from the motor to communicate the displaced fluid to the outlet passage for return to a reservoir. The configuration of the spools and their arrangement in the valve provide a capability of metering flow from motor to reservoir to prevent overrunning of the motor.

    Abstract: A speeed control mechanism having a main spool valve and metering valves controls the output to and return flow from an hydraulic fluid actuator. The main spool valve controls the direction and acceleration of the actuator, and the metering valves determine the maximum velocity of the actuator independent of the load. Adjustment features are provided to control the maximum displacement and the speed of the displacement of the main spool valve. Moreover, a novel adjustment feature is incorporated into the main spool valve to control the maximum volumetric flow rate through the metering valves.

    Abstract: A pumping trap for returning high temperature condensate under lower presure directly to a boiler under higher pressure. This trap comprises in combination a condensate sump having an inlet and an outlet respectively provided with a check valve, supply and exhaust passages for higher pressure air, gas or the like, a float accomodated in said condensate sump, inlet and outlet check valves as well as pressure operated supply and exhaust valves provided on said passages, and a pilot valve which opens and closes according to rise and fall of said float.

    Abstract: In order to provide a multi-way directional fluid flow control valve arrangement which provides good control whilst being relatively cheap to manufacture, I use simple main valves all of which have parallel axes and all lie in a common plane, enabling me to form the main valves in a cheap manufacturing operation; the pilot valve however is more complex and has at least four connections, but because the pilot valve is smaller, this extra complexity does not make the whole valve arrangement more expensive.
