Abstract: A transfer apparatus for receiving the chair seat of a wheelchair and supporting the chair seat in the base of a washing enclosure. The transfer apparatus has a chair support member including a chair support track section that can be positioned in the washing enclosure base. The transfer apparatus also has a bridge portion including a bridge track section that is movably mounted to the chair support member. The bridge portion transitions between a storage position and an in-use position. In the in-use position the bridge portion is engaged with the wheelchair and the bridge track section is aligned with the chair support track section. The chair seat can be translated from the wheelchair along the bridge track section to the chair support track section when the bridge portion is in the in-use position and engaged with the wheelchair.

Abstract: A method and system for representing usage of an electronic learning system. The method and system involve receiving an input indicative of a selection of a property of the electronic learning system to be represented, the property including a course content provided by the electronic learning system and an activity available for that course content; receiving representation parameters that define a scope of the usage to be represented; determining an event count for the property during the period of interest; and generating a usage indicator for the property based at least on the event count. The usage indicator is generally reflective of at least a usage amount of the property during the period of interest.

Abstract: The processes can comprise feeding a furnace with a raw material. These materials can contain impurities and valuable metals (base metals, precious metals, platinum group metals, minor metals). The processes can allow the volatilization of arsenic and indium contained therein. Before volatilizing the material, composition of the material is optionally modified so as to obtain a ratio % S/(% (Cu/2)+% Ni+% Co) of about 0.5 to about 2. The processes can comprise feeding a melting device with the depleted material, and with a source of carbon in order to obtain a multi-layer product and an off gas. Before melting the depleted material, the depleted material composition is optionally modified so as to obtain a ratio % S/(% (Cu/2)+% Ni+% Co) of about 0.5 to about 2. Thus, it is possible to recover Cu, Ni and Co as well as several other metals, including In, Ge, Pb, Bi, precious metals and platinum group metals.

Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus comprises a floor cleaning unit comprising a surface cleaning head and an upright section moveably mounted to the surface cleaning head between a storage position and a floor cleaning position and a hand vacuum cleaner removably mounted to the upright section. The upright section is connected to the surface cleaning head by a rotatable coupling. When the surface cleaning unit is mounted to the upright section, the surface cleaning unit and the upright section define an upright assembly, the upright assembly having a handle wherein, when the upright assembly is in the inclined use position, the handle is steeringly connected to the surface cleaning head whereby a user may rotate the handle clockwise or counterclockwise with respect to the surface cleaning head to assist in steering the surface cleaning head.

Abstract: A reactor and its internals used for the thermal processing of a liquid mixture. The reactor comprises plates and at least part of the surface of said plates is used to perform the thermal processing. The reactor and its internals are used for the thermal processing of various liquid mixtures containing organic compounds. The processes, for thermal processing the mixture comprising organic compounds, comprising the steps of feeding the reactor and its internals and being useful for treating wastes oils and/or for destroying hazardous and/or toxic products; and/or for reusing waste products in an environmentally acceptable form and/or way, and/or for cleaning contaminated soils or beaches, and/or cleaning tar pits, and/or use in coal-oil co-processing, and/or recovering oil from oil spills, and/or PCB free transformed oils. A process for fabricating the reactor and its internals is also proposed.

Abstract: An absolute vector gravimeter and method of use is provided. The absolute vector gravimeter includes one or more single axis accelerometers, each capable of pointing in at least two directions and calculating an estimated gravity component. Further embodiments provide for estimating a bias in the single axis accelerometer, as well as measuring non-ballistic accelerations along multiple axes and calculating estimated gravity components for each. A resultant non-ballistic acceleration vector can be calculated. Examples for reducing the RMS error in the estimated gravity components are also provided.
