    Abstract: Limiting dual connectivity in a wireless sector served by at least two wireless air interfaces includes monitoring a pairing efficiency metric of wireless devices in the wireless sector. When the pairing efficiency metric rises above a threshold, a maximum number of wireless devices able to attach to one of the at least two wireless air interfaces is increased, and when the pairing efficiency metric falls below the threshold, the maximum number of wireless devices able to attach to one of the at least two wireless air interfaces is decreased. The wireless air interface for which dual connectivity is limited can be a 5G interface, and load is alleviated by limiting dual connectivity thereto.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and processing nodes are configured to perform scheduling in a wireless network utilizing a multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) operating mode, by determining that a throughput indicator of a sector meets a threshold, and adjusting a time window during which a first one or more wireless devices are removed from a MU-MIMO group and a second one or more wireless devices are added to the MU-MIMO group. The first one or more wireless devices comprise any wireless device that has a throughput below a threshold, and the second one or more wireless devices comprise any wireless device that has not been in the MU-MIMO group for a predefined time period.

    Abstract: Mitigating interference between access nodes in a wireless network includes determining interference caused to uplink signals received at a first access node by downlink signals transmitted from a second access node, and adjusting a guard period of a special subframe utilized by one or both of access nodes based on determining the interference, by switching special subframe formats to include a longer guard period. Overall interference is mitigated based on mutually-experienced propagation delay, and channel reciprocity. Adjustments are associated with known distances between access nodes.
