Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device is configured for performing a signal measurement for wireless communication in a new radio (NR) network. The UE is configured to determine a frequency range (FR) of a serving cell configured to send a signal that is measured by the UE using a signal measurement. The UE configures a measurement gap (MG) pattern to perform the signal measurement. Configuring the measurement gap includes determining that the frequency range of the serving cell includes frequencies of a second frequency range (FR2), determining that a measurement object (MO) configuration for the FR2 is available, setting a measurement gap repetition periodicity (MGRP) value for the signal measurement, and setting a measurement gap length (MGL) value for the signal measurement. The UE performs a signal measurement using the MGRP value and the MGL value.

Abstract: A network may transmit either beam deployment information or beam number information to a user equipment (UE) carried on a train and configured for operation in the millimeter wave band. The deployment information may include deployment related distance parameters or azimuth angle spread parameters. The beam number information may indicate a number of network beams associated with a current cell. The UE may determine a number of UE receive beams based on deployment information or the network-indicated number of network beams. The UE may transmit feedback to the network, indicating the number of UE receive beams. Alternatively, the network may send a configuration message indicating a first number of UE receive beams to the UE, which the UE may treat as an upper bound or lower bound in its determination of a desired number of UE receive beams. The UE may transmit the desired number to the network.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to devices, apparatuses, and methods for enhanced PHR reporting in support of UE antenna scaling. A wireless device, which comprises at least one antenna array each comprising a plurality of antenna elements may perform antenna scaling by activating or deactivating at least one of the plurality of antenna elements (with corresponding RF chains) of one or more antenna arrays. The wireless device may generate a power headroom (PHR) report based at least on a difference between beamforming gains obtained after the antenna scaling and before the antenna scaling. The wireless device may then send the PHR report to a base station in communication with the wireless device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure enable a user equipment (UE) to performing inter-Radio Access Technology (RAT) measurements. The UE determines whether one or more inter-RAT measurement object (MO) is configured with or without a measurement gap (MG). When the one or more inter-RAT MO is on an NR serving component carrier (CC) with the MG, the UE performs an inter-RAT measurement on the NR serving CC based on whether the MG is fully overlapped or partially overlapped with synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) of a target MO of the one or more inter-RAT MO. The UE receives a MG configuration, wherein the MG configuration includes multiple MGs and MG conflict resolution information, determines whether a conflict exists between two or more of the MGs, selects at least one of the two or more MGs that have the conflict based on the MG conflict resolution information and performs signal measurements during the selected at least one of the two or more MGs that have the conflict.
