Abstract: Some demonstrative embodiments include devices, systems and methods of multi-user downlink transmission. For example, an apparatus may include a transmitter to transmit a multi-user (MU) downlink request to a plurality of wireless stations; and a receiver to receive one or more responses from one or more wireless stations of the plurality of wireless stations, wherein the transmitter is to transmit to the plurality of wireless stations a MU scheduling message indicating resources allocated to a downlink transmission to at least one scheduled station of the one or more wireless stations, and to transmit the downlink transmission to the at least one scheduled station according to the MU scheduling message.

Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA) and method for subcarrier scaling are generally described herein. The AP may transmit a high efficiency (HE) physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes a legacy long training field (L-LTF), a legacy signal (L-SIG) field, and an HE signal (HE-SIG) field. The HE-SIG may be based on HE-SIG symbols mapped to a group of HE subcarriers that includes legacy subcarriers and HE extension subcarriers. The L-LTF may be based on L-LTF pilot symbols mapped to the legacy subcarriers. The L-SIG may be based on L-SIG legacy symbols mapped to the legacy subcarriers and L-SIG extension pilot symbols mapped to the HE extension subcarriers. The AP may scale a per-subcarrier power of the L-SIG extension pilot symbols to match a per-subcarrier power of the L-LTF pilot symbols.

Abstract: Embodiments of a high-efficiency WLAN (HEW) master station and method for communicating in a Wireless Network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the HEW master station comprises a receiver configured to receive an uplink multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmission from a plurality of scheduled HEW stations. The uplink MU-MIMO transmission may comprise at least an HEW short-training field (STF) (HEW-STF) transmitted by each of the scheduled HEW stations. The HEW-STFs received from the HEW stations are distinguishable. The master station may process the HEW-STFs received from the scheduled HEW stations to set receiver gain for reception of UL-MIMO data from the scheduled HEW stations. In some embodiments, a single automatic gain control (AGC) setting may be determined from the combined HEW-STF resulting in improved receiver performance in UL MU-MIMO.

Abstract: Computer readable media, methods, and apparatuses to determine whether to respond to a frame based on a network allocation vector. An apparatus of a station comprising memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory is disclosed. The processing circuitry is configured to: decode a frame comprising a first duration and a first transmitter address, if the frame is a trigger frame or a multi-user request-to-send (MU-RTS) frame from a master station of a basic service set (BSS), respond to the trigger frame or the MU-RTS frame if the trigger frame or MU-RTS frame comprises a NAV indicator that indicates not to consider a network allocation vector (NAV). The indication may be an indication in a physical header or an indication in a media access control header.

Abstract: Embodiments pertain to systems, methods, and component devices for dynamic non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) communications. A first example embodiment includes user equipment (UE) configured to receive a first downlink control indicator (DCI) from an evolved node B (eNB) and process the first subframe as a first higher power NOMA subframe in response to a first power ratio signal. The DCI includes the first power ratio signal for a first NOMA subframe. The UE may then receive, from the eNB, a second DCI, the second DCI comprising a second power ratio signal for a second subframe and process, by the UE, the second subframe as a second lower power NOMA subframe in response to the second power ratio signal. Additional embodiments may further use another DCI with a third power ratio signal to configure the UE to receive orthogonal multiple access (OMA) communications.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, apparatus, and systems related to high efficiency signal field enhancement. A device may determine a wireless communication channel with a first device in accordance with a wireless communication standard. The device may generate a high efficiency preamble in accordance with a high efficiency communication standard, the high efficiency preamble including, at least in part, one or more legacy signal fields, one or more high efficiency signal fields, and one or more training fields. The device may determine one or more indication bits included in at least one of the one or more legacy fields. The device may determine a repetition pattern of at least one of the one or more high efficiency signal fields based at least in part, on the one or more indication bits. The device may cause to send the high efficiency preamble to the first device over the wireless communication channel.

Abstract: Techniques for resource block allocation in a multi-user MIMO High Efficiency WLAN system are provided. Specifically, teachings that when taken alone or together, provide a device or a group of devices with an improved resource allocation for the reduction of usable tone waste, are presented. The present disclosure includes a system that provides a user with a technique allocating data tones prior to the encapsulation unit or overhead tones on a resource block unit. Further, the total allocated bandwidth can be reduced prior resource allocation to overcome modulation and coding scheme downgrading caused by severe puncturing. Alternatively, only band edge basic resource blocks are reduced to account for overhead tones which largely reside on band edges.
