Abstract:
An apparatus may receive signaling from a base station that indicates different tone indices. The apparatus may further transmit a plurality of symbols in a single tone uplink transmission. In an aspect, groups of symbols in the plurality of symbols are transmitted using the different tone indices of the single tone uplink transmission indicated by the received signaling. A second apparatus may signal to at least one user equipment (UE) information associated with different tone indices for use in transmitting a plurality of symbols in a single tone uplink transmission. The second apparatus may further receive the plurality of symbols in the single tone uplink transmission. In an aspect, pairs of symbols in the plurality of symbols are received in different tone indices of the single tone uplink transmission.
Abstract:
Different control information formats offer tradeoffs between performance for a UE and multiplexing capability for different UEs. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) determines a first threshold to apply in selecting a format from a plurality of formats and uses the format for a first transmission of control information. The first threshold to apply in the selection of the format is determined from a set of possible values with the UE determining a first size of a first payload for the first transmission and selecting a first format for the first transmission of control information based on the first size and the first threshold. The threshold may be configurable by a base station and can reflect channel conditions prevailing at the UE and/or the need for a multiplexing capability associated with different formats.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provided techniques that for wireless communications by a base station (BS). An exemplary method, performed by a base station, generally includes identifying an operating state of a user equipment that communicates with the BS in at least one narrowband region, determining, based on the operating state, one or more operating parameters of a configurable measurement procedure whereby the user equipment (UE) tunes away from the narrowband region to measure signals transmitted from other BSs, and configuring the UE to perform the measurement procedure in accordance with the determined operating parameters.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications, and more specifically increasing user capacity through a frame structure which supports eMTC UL multi-user multiplexing. According to aspects, a UE may identify at least one narrowband region within a wider system bandwidth, determine at least one parameter assigned to the UE for transmitting symbols of a physical uplink channel in the narrowband region that are multiplexed with symbols transmitted by one or more other UEs, and transmit the physical uplink channel using the at least one determined parameter.
