Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for narrowband channel selection in a wireless communications network are described herein. In one aspect, a wireless communications device includes a receiver, processor, and transmitter. The receiver is configured to wirelessly receive messages from a first device over a plurality of channels. The processor is configured to estimate a quality of each channel based on one message received from the first device over each channel, select for wireless communication a first channel of the plurality of channels based on the estimated quality of each channel, and prepare a selection message indicating selection of the first channel for wireless communication. The transmitter is configured to transmit the selection message to the first device.

Systems, methods, and devices for communicating a compressed beacon are described herein. In some aspects, a method of communicating in a wireless network includes transmitting, at an access point, a full beacon at a first multiple of a beacon interval. The method further includes transmitting a compressed beacon at each beacon interval that is not the first multiple of the beacon interval. Another method of communicating in a wireless network includes receiving, at a wireless device, a full beacon at a first multiple of a beacon interval. The method further includes receiving a compressed beacon at a beacon interval that is not the first multiple of the beacon interval.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for communicating in a wireless communication system are described. Various processes for reducing the initial link set up time are described. In one aspect a method in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving, at a terminal, a message including information for establishing a link with a device in the wireless communication system. The method further includes identifying, at the terminal, a time slot and a back-off amount within the identified time slot based on a value included in the received message. The method also includes abstaining from sensing a medium based on the identified time slot and the identified back-off amount. The method further includes transmitting an association request message to establish the link with the device during the identified time slot after expiration of the back-off amount.
Abstract:
A core network receives data from at least one of an AF, a DN, or a UE. A UPF having small data capability processes the data for transport with a low overhead and without initiating a bearer set up protocol. The data may be transported between the UE and the UPF as an RRC payload over a NAS protocol. The data may be received from an AF or DN external to the core network and may be processed to transport the data to the UE based as an RRC payload. The data may be received as uplink data from a UE, e.g., in an RRC payload. The UPF may process the RRC payload to obtain the data and may transport the data to the AF or DN. The UPF may perform IP header compression, data encryption, and/or buffering of data for a UE in an idle mode.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and computer program products for synchronization of wireless devices in a peer-to-peer network are described herein. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication apparatus is provided. The method includes receiving, at an apparatus, at least one of: an offset parameter indicating an offset, with respect to a default time period, during which the apparatus should be in an active mode for transmitting and/or receiving data, and an interval parameter indicating a multiple of time periods, wherein the apparatus should be in the active mode for transmitting and/or receiving data during each time period. The method further includes determining at least one wakeup time period to be in the active mode based on the offset parameter or the interval parameter. The method further includes transmitting and/or receiving data during the at least one wakeup time period.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes exchanging, at a first device, a negotiation message with a second device. The method also includes determining, at the first device, whether to send a traffic message during a neighbor aware network (NAN) data link (NDL) time block based on the negotiation message.
Abstract:
A method, a user equipment, a 5G core network device, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. Battery life and network efficiency of the user equipment are improved through the usage of a polled-mode power saving technique, wherein the user equipment periodically awakens to poll the 5G core network device regarding whether a communication is available for the user equipment. If the communication is available, the user equipment receives the communication. If the communication is delayed, the user equipment performs discontinuous reception to save power until the communication is available. If the communication is unavailable, the user equipment resumes a sleep mode.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for generating wake-up radio (WUR) frames formats and implementing WUR communications between transmitting and receiving wireless devices. A transmitting wireless device may identify one or more intended receiving wireless devices for which to send a WUR frame. The transmitting wireless device may generate the WUR frame, where the WUR frame has a first portion that includes a first field. The first field may indicate whether the WUR frame is a fixed length frame or a variable length frame. The transmitting wireless device may also determine a frame check sequence (FCS) type for use with a WUR frame for transmission. The FCS portion may be capable of being one of a plurality of FCS types. The transmitting wireless device may transmit the WUR frame to the one or more intended receiving wireless devices.
