Abstract:
An intuitive image navigator is described. The intuitive image navigator comprises a direction control device and a rotational control ring. The image direction control device moves an image shown on a display of an electronic device, for example, an electronic map on a display of a portable electronic device. The rotational control ring is configured around the image direction control device to control the display condition of the image on the display. The image direction control device provides an intuitive omni-directional variable-speed scrolling function and the rotational control ring provides a stepless variable-speed changing function for browsing the image.
Abstract:
The motion determination apparatus includes a motion sensor for sensing motion of an electronic device and sending out a motion parameter. A processor receives the motion parameter to determine whether or not his motion is a meaningful motion. A device controller activates a device function according to the determination.
Abstract:
Item selection methods. Users touch, drag, and release contact along a touch-sensitive mechanism to select software hotkeys or menu items on a display screen. As soon as contact is made with and remains on the surface of the sensor, a menu appears on the display screen. Sustained contact and dragging along the touch-sensitive mechanism moves or scrolls through content items. When contact is terminated with the touch-sensitive mechanism, the highlighted content item is selected for launching.
Abstract:
A speaker module (200) having a speaker unit (210) and a speaker box (220) is provided. The speaker module is mounted in a casing (22) of a hand-held electronic device (20). The speaker box (220) has a wall defining an aperture (222a) receiving the speaker unit therein. The speaker box has a neck section (224) formed by narrowing a peripheral wall of the speaker box. The neck section connects front and rear speaker chambers (222, 226) each of which has a cross-sectional dimension larger than that of the neck section. The speaker module is mounted on a printed circuit board (24) by fitting the neck section in a hole (24a) of the printed circuit board. The speaker unit is mounted in a front wall of the front chamber (222). An antenna module (26) is mounted in the casing behind the speaker module.
Abstract:
An omni-directional image navigator is described. The omni-directional image navigator includes a first touch area and a direction control area constituted by a second touch area adjacent to the first touch area. The direction control area is utilized to move an image on a display of an electronic device. The direction control area is formed on a touch pad. Preferably, the first touch area is also formed on the touch pad. The omni-directional image navigator further includes a mechanical switch thereunder to improve the tactile feedback thereof.
Abstract:
A multi-directional sliding module for a portable device is described. The multi-directional sliding module includes a slide, a first track, and a second track. The first track and the second track are disposed on a single plane of a portable device and form a predetermined angle therebetween to allow a first electronic module sliding along at least two directions on a second electronic module of the portable device. When the first electronic module is slid out along the first track, the portable device is operated in a mobile phone mode. When the first sliding electronic module is slid out along the second track, the portable device is operated in a typing mode.
Abstract:
A via structure of a printed circuit board includes an insulation layer having a first surface and a second surface, a through-hole and a plurality of internal conducting coatings. The through-hole is throughout the first surface and the second surface of the insulation layer and the internal conductive coatings connected to a wall of the through-hole are mutually electrically insulated so that different signals can be transmitted between both sides of the substrate through a single via.
Abstract:
A mobile communication apparatus includes a printed circuit board (PCB) and a global positioning system (GPS) antenna. The GPS antenna is made of a metal sheet, and vertically inserted into the PCB.
Abstract:
A dual-axis hinge includes at least a connecting section, an upper hinge and a lower hinge. The connecting section has two sides orthogonally connected to the upper and lower hinges respectively. The connecting section has a circuit cavity that communicates with circuit outlets of the upper and lower hinges to form a passage for accommodating a transmission circuit. The upper hinge is connected to a first sleeve for joining the top cover of a folding electronic product, and the lower hinge is connected to a second sleeve for joining the body of the folding electronic product. These connections enable the top cover to rotate in at least two different directions.
