Abstract: A system including a polymeric sheet. The polymeric sheet comprises a base sheet having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface and a multiplicity of spaced rails projecting from the first surface of the base sheet. The rails comprise a stem portion attached to and substantially upright from the first surface of the base sheet and a top portion on the distal end of the stem opposite the base sheet. The top portion comprises a first surface opposite the base sheet and a second surface facing the first surface of the base sheet. Additionally, the rails have a length greater than the width of the stems. The first surface of the base sheet, the second surface of the top portion and the surface of the stem defines a cavity with walls, and an adhesive coated on at least a portion of the cavity wall.

Abstract: A method and associated system provides automated abrasive paint repair using automated abrasive paint repair devices that selectively sand, buff, and polish a substrate in response to received instructions generated by a controller. The controller receives coordinates of each identified defect in the substrate along with parameters describing characteristics of each defect, selects a sanding process, a buffing process, and/or a polishing process based on empirically derived rules established by skilled/expert human operators and the received parameters. The controller outputs instructions to cause the automated abrasive paint repair devices to execute the selected sanding process, buffing process, and/or polishing process using the received parameters. The empirically derived rules and parameters may be stored in a lookup table and/or updated by a machine learning module.

Abstract: A cooling film for use in passively cooling an antenna includes an antisoiling layer secured to a first major surface of a reflective microporous layer. The reflective microporous layer comprises a first fluoropolymer and is diffusely reflective of electromagnetic radiation over a majority of wavelengths in the range of 400 to 2500 nanometers. The film can also include an infrared-absorptive layer secured to a second major surface of the film opposite the first major surface, and the infrared-absorptive layer is optionally metallized. The film is shaped into a self-supporting three-dimensional structure, such as fins, and a thermally conductive material is inside the structure and secured to a portion of the antenna, either the front side of the antenna for the non-metallized film or the back side of the antenna for the metallized film.

Abstract: Augmented reality-based training systems that can dynamically construct and render AR content based on physical attributes of a user to train the user to correctly fit one or more articles of a personal protective equipment (PPE) onto the user's body. In some examples, an AR system includes a display and a computing device having a memory and one or more processors. The memory can include instructions that, when executed by the processors, simulate a fitting of PPE to a worker. The system can capture an image of a worker, select a digital model of the PPE, determine alignment of the PPE to the worker, and output for display augmented reality content that includes a composite image of the worker overlaid with the digital model of the PPE in accordance with the determined alignment.

Abstract: A system and method of simulating and optimizing industrial and other processes includes a computer that performs multivariate analysis of input variables and output variables to generate a data model of the operation of the process. For industrial applications, the input variables include process variables and the output variables include result variables from the operation of the industrial process. The data model determines contributions to changes in the output or result variables by the respective input or process variables and is provided to a predictive algorithm to identify parameter values for input or process variables expected to have a most significant impact on the output or result variables during performance of the process. The outputs of the predictive algorithm are parameter values that are provided as input or process variables to the industrial process for simulation or performance optimization or product recommendations/optimizations.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method can comprise: providing a tool that has a first portion that comprises a first material and a second portion that comprises a second material, wherein the second material differs from the first material and the tool is subject to a magnetic field, and wherein the first material and the second material are provided such that the magnetic field is relatively stronger at and adjacent the first portion relative to the magnetic field at and adjacent the second portion; positioning a surface adjacent to the tool so as to be subject to the magnetic field; and disposing magnetizable abrasive particles on the surface, wherein the magnetizable abrasive particles are attracted to an area on the surface adjacent the first portion where the magnetic field is relatively stronger so as to provide for at least one of a desired orientation, placement and alignment of a majority of the magnetizable abrasive particles on the surface.

Abstract: A facemask assembly for a self-contained breathing apparatus includes a facemask configured to be worn by a user, an electronic device connected with the facemask, a microcontroller configured to send signals to the electronic device, an accelerometer coupled with the microcontroller and configured to sense motion of the facemask; and a battery configured to supply power to the electronic device. When motion is detected by the accelerometer, a signal is transmitted to the microcontroller and the microcontroller interprets the electrical signal to selectively adjust the power level supplied to the electronic device.

Abstract: A system includes processing circuitry and a drone that includes a marking mount that receives a marking device, a motion guide that provides a sliding framework for a reciprocating motion of the marking mount, and a shock absorption sub-assembly positioned between the marking mount and the motion guide. Control logic of the drone is configured to navigate, based on navigation instructions received from the processing circuitry, the drone to an area associated with a misapplication of a tape as applied to a substrate or a substrate defect, such that a distal tip of the marking device makes contact with the area associated with the tape misapplication or the substrate defect, while activating the shock absorption sub-assembly to at least partially absorb a shock caused by the contact between the distal tip of the marking device and the area associated with the tape misapplication or the substrate defect.

Furthermore the power connector has an unplug lever for retracting the plug for unplugging. The unplug lever and the plug are connected by a pivot joint that forms a pivot axis. The unplug lever forms a handle arm and a counter arm that extend away from the pivot joint in opposite directions.
