Abstract:
The invention comprises a device and method of using said device(s) including but not limited to; Long Range Acoustical Devices (LRAD), Hyper Sonic Sound (HSS), Cascaded Linear Array Systems (Clas and BClas) and or HyperSpike devices currently and typically used for sonar, acoustic hailing, crowd control, mass notification, and sonic boom simulation—to initiate avalanche release in or in proximity to avalanche corridors and starting zone(s) as a non-explosive control alternative. The invention is an integration of technologies incorporating an infrasound generator, on board power supply and amplification, inverter, digital signal processor, GPS, and RF receiver all housed in a rugged weather resistant enclosure with necessary gantry and rigging. The combination of these technologies allows control personnel to safely operate the equipment from a remote location. The invention is deployed remotely via a cable or network of cables to predetermined avalanche starting zone(s). The device can be rotated, panned the full length or range of the cable(s), and tilted offering users comprehensive coverage of any topography. The invention can readily be integrated with equipment and infrastructures already in use such as bomb trams, cable and pylon networks, helicopters, chairlifts, and sensing and notification systems. New infrastructures can be built to tailor fit any and all topographies and avalanche control programs for ski resorts, Departments of Transportation, transportation entities, and national parks.
Abstract:
A computer program embodied on a computer readable medium, said computer program configured to control a controller to: output, to a display driver, data for causing the display driver to drive a display of a printing apparatus to display, in a first area of the display, a plurality of images including a first image, wherein the plurality of images are representative of a plurality of respective different types of label data field, and to display a second image representative of the appearance of a label medium occupying a second area of the display that is different from the first area; and in response to receiving, from a selector, information comprising data representative of an operation of the selector by a user to select the first image and data representative of a position within the second area, output, to the display driver, data for causing the display driver to drive the display to display a revised version of the second image representative of the appearance of the label medium; wherein the revised version of the second image comprises a label data field of the type of label data field of which the first image is representative, and wherein the label data field comprised in the revised version of the second image is located at a location determined in dependence on said position within the second area.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, kits and compositions for detecting the presence or absence of hookworm in a fecal sample are disclosed herein. The methods, devices, kits and compositions of the present invention may be used to confirm the presence or absence of hookworm in a fecal sample from a mammal that may also be infected with one or more of roundworm, whipworm, and heartworm. Confirmation of the presence or absence of hookworm in the mammal may be made, for example, for the purpose of selecting an optimal course of treating the mammal and/or for the purpose of determining whether the mammal has been rid of the infection after treatment has been initiated.
Abstract:
An alignment system for a conveyor having a conveyor belt trained over rollers on a conveyor frame where the system includes a support bracket including a center support and pivoting members each including a torque arm, the pivoting members being pivotally mounted to opposing ends of the support bracket. Two tracking rollers are independently mounted to the support bracket, where each of the tracking rollers includes a shaft with an inner end and an outer end, the outer ends of the shafts being coupled to the pivoting members and the inner ends being coupled to the center support such that pivoting movement of the pivoting members causes the tracking rollers to pivot relative to the center support. A guide control bar having two ends is pivotally connected at each the end to a corresponding torque arm connected to the corresponding pivoting member, where the guide control bar includes guide rollers positioned at both edges of the conveyor belt for lateral control of the belt.
Abstract:
A multiple speed power transmission comprises: an epicyclic gearing assembly comprising first, second, third, and fourth rotating members with linearly related speeds; a double pinion planetary gear set with grounded carrier and input driven sun gear; two brakes; four clutches; and specified interconnections. The brakes and clutches are operated in combinations of two to produce eight forward speed ratios and at least one reverse speed ratio.
Abstract:
A family of self-timed, charge-conserving asynchronous logic elements that interact with their nearest neighbors permits design and implementation of circuits that are asynchronous at the bit level. The elements pass information by means of state tokens, rather than voltages. Each cell is self-timed, so no hardware non-local connections are needed. An asynchronous logic element comprises a set of edges for asynchronous communication with at least one neighboring cell, the edges receiving state tokens from neighboring logic elements and transferring output state tokens to neighboring logic elements, and circuitry configured to perform, when the circuitry inputs contain valid tokens and the circuitry outputs are empty, a logic operation utilizing received tokens as inputs, thereby producing an output token reflecting the result of the logic operation.
Abstract:
A battery pack includes at least one voltaic cell module. A substrate is mechanically coupled to the module and configured to receive excess heat therefrom. A section of an electrically insulating thermal gap pad is arranged between the module and the substrate. The pad includes a dielectric sheet supporting a deformable layer.
Abstract:
An imaging system including an integral computed tomography and interventional (CT/I) system that includes a large-area detector configured to acquire projection data corresponding to a field of view of the system from one or more view angles is presented. The system includes a computing device operatively coupled to the CT/I system and configured to process the acquired projection data to generate a 2D projection image in real-time, a 3D cross-sectional image of a region of interest in the subject, a combined image using the 2D projection image and the 3D cross-sectional image and/or control selective generation of the 2D projection image, the 3D cross-sectional image and/or the combined image based on one or more imaging specifications. The system also includes a display operatively coupled to the computing device and configured to display the 2D projection image, the 3D cross-sectional image and/or the combined image based on the imaging specifications.
Abstract:
A charging handle apparatus includes a two-piece support apparatus that is disposed on a handle assembly and that is engaged with a gear. One of the two pieces is movable with respect to the first piece. The second piece of the support apparatus includes a number of engagement structures that are engaged with the gear and that retain the gear in a given position with respect to the handle assembly. The charging handle apparatus thus can be provided as a pre-assembled component that is readily mountable to a shaft of a circuit interrupter.
