Abstract: A coordinate detection system can comprise a display screen, a touch surface corresponding the top of the display screen or a material positioned above the screen and defining a touch area, at least one camera outside the touch area and configured to capture an image of space above the touch surface, an illumination system comprising a light source, the illumination system configured to project light from the light source through the touch surface, and a processor executing program code to identify whether an object interferes with the light from the light source projected through the touch surface based on the image captured by the at least one camera. Light can be directed upward by sources positioned behind the screen, by sources positioned behind the screen that direct light into a backlight assembly that directs the light upward, and/or by a forward optical assembly in front of the screen that directs the light upward.

Abstract: A method of protecting a glazed frame mounted document from the ravages of light and a fade protector therefore, the protector comprising a transparent UV absorbing polymeric film layer, preferably PET, having a thickness such that the film in use remains substantially flat against the glazing when clamped between the frame and glazing, the film layer being coated on its exposed side in use with a transparent anti-glare hard coating. The glazing is removed from the glazed frame, the fade protector is placed against a surface of the glazing which is then re-assembled in the frame with the fade protector adjacent the eternal surface of the glazing with the anti-glare coating facing outwardly.

Abstract: Apparatus and process for heat exchange with fluid beds comprises heat-exchange tubes located longitudinally with respect to the axis of a fluidization zone with a rectangular pitch, one side of which having a length at least one and a half times the length of the other side and/or with a triangular pitch, having two sides each at least one and a half times the length of the shortest side reduces the impact of the heat-exchange tubes on the fluidization characteristics of the fluid bed. The invention is particularly suitable for oxidation reactions using molecular oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a fluid bed of fluidizable catalyst, such as (a) the acetoxylation of olefins, (b) the oxidation of ethylene to acetic acid and/or the oxidation of ethane to ethylene and/or acetic acid, (c) the ammoxidation of propylene and/or propane to acrylonitrile and (d) the oxidation of C4's to maleic anhydride.

Abstract: A fluidized bed polymerization reactor which is a generally cylindrical vessel having a longitudinal axis and a fluidization grid located in the vessel generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vessel and defining a fluidized bed region above the fluidization grid. The reactor has an inlet for continuously introducing a gaseous stream of polymerizable monomers into the vessel below the fluidization grid at a gas velocity sufficient to maintain particles in the fluidized bed region in a suspended and fluidized condition; an outlet for removing polymer product from the fluidized bed region and an outlet for continuously removing an outlet stream of gaseous unreacted polymerizable monomer from the fluidized bed region. A cooling device cools at least a part of the outlet stream to a temperature at which liquid condenses out of the outlet stream, and a separating device separates at least a part of the cooled outlet stream into condensed liquid and a cooled gaseous stream. The separated cooled gaseous stream is returned to the inlet and an injection device injects at least a part of the condensed liquid into the fluidized bed region at a point where the gaseous stream of polymerizable monomers passing through the vessel has substantially reached the operating temperature of the polymerization reactor. The injection device includes at least one gas induced atomizing nozzle for injecting an atomized stream of the condensed liquid into the fluidized bed region in a direction generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vessel.

Abstract: An electrosurgical instrument is provided for the treatment of tissue, the instrument comprising an instrument shaft (10) having a longitudinal axis, and an electrode assembly at one end of the shaft. Abstract: An electrosurgical system includes an electrosurgical generator (1) including at least one source of radio frequency (RF) power, and a plurality of output connections (2, 3, 4), only one of the output connections at any one time being active in that it is able to receive radio frequency power from the source. The generator (1) includes selection means adapted to change the active output connection, and a controller adapted to control the supply of radio frequency power from the source to the active output connection. The system also includes a plurality of electrosurgical assemblies, each including an electrosurgical instrument (5, 6, 7) and a cable (8, 9, 10) connecting the electrosurgical instrument to one of the output connections (2, 3, 4). The electrosurgical instruments (5, 6, 7) each include a handswitch (17, 18, 19) adapted to send a signal to the generator (1) to change the active output connection. The selection means is such that a signal sent from the handswitch (17, 18, 19) of the active instrument (5, 6, 7) can cause the generator (1) to change the active output connection to a different output connection (2, 3, 4), but a signal sent from the handswitch of an instrument other than the active instrument does not immediately cause the selection means to change the active output connection to a different output connection.
