Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to heat removal from circuit board components and, more specifically, to improved thermal management for circuit board components mounted on electrical wiring boards. The structure comprises a heat sink; and an auxiliary heat sink positioned in thermal contact with the heat sink and a circuit board component on a wiring board, the auxiliary heat sink having a plurality of slots located in a central portion of the auxiliary heat sink, wherein the auxiliary heat sink is both mechanically compliant and thermally conductive with both the heat sink and the circuit board component.
Abstract:
A filter apparatus for filtering material solids from a liquid having a filter belt driven by a pair of belt transport chains and including a purged seal member to limit bypass of unfiltered fluid around the filter belt. The filter apparatus includes a plurality of flight bars configured to float above the filter belt thereby reducing wear. Also included is a webbing layer provided on filter belt outboard portions including holes with grommets configured to engage with the belt transport chains.
Abstract:
An embodiment of a method of shifting a valve between a plurality of flow condition positions, includes the steps of providing a mechanical indexer device in operational connection with a valve, the indexer device including a primary path defining a sequence through a plurality of valve positions at and between open and closed and a detent moveable along the primary path; providing at least one alternate path from a point along the primary path to a preceding position on the primary path along the sequence; shifting the valve to a subsequent position in the sequence; and shifting the valve to the preceding position in the sequence.
Abstract:
The invention is a digital radiation detector utilizing the stable timing functions of a microcontroller or plurality of microcontrolling devices to perform three independent functions. A first timer generates a continuous square wave output that is fed through a class B amplifier to yield a stable, drift-free power supply for a connected radiation sensor. A second timer is used as an event counter for counting the processed pulses coming from the radiation sensor. A third timer acts as a real time clock generating a one-second interrupt for quantifying the number of counts per second. The number of counts per second can be communicated as raw data through a communication interface or presented as a number of audible or visual displays.
Abstract:
A packaging laminate comprising a paperboard substrate for providing a base layer, a tear-resistant polymer layer applied to said substrate, and a heat seal polymer layer applied to said tear-resistant polymer. This laminate structure is particularity useful for blister pack packaging.
Abstract:
A magnetic roll having longitudinal grooves machined in its rotating sleeve enables a pair of rolls to be rotated in a direction opposite to the direction of a photoreceptor moving through a development zone and a trim blade to be mounted proximate one of the rolls at a trim gap of approximately 0.5 to 0.7 mm. The magnetic roll includes a stationary core with at least one magnet, and a sleeve having longitudinal grooves that is mounted about the stationary core so that the sleeve rotates about the stationary core. The sleeve has a relatively smooth surface area between the grooves.
Abstract:
In a basic design of a developer unit for electrostatographic printing apparatus, an exit port is defined in the housing of the developer unit, for the passage of waste or surplus toner therethrough. An insert, defining a predetermined spillover barrier height and a predetermined exit angle, is associated with the exit port. Different types of inserts can be provided for operating the basic design of developer unit at different print output speeds, or with different compositions of developer material.
Abstract:
A closure assembly includes an inner cap with threading along an inner surface. A threading profile extends along an outer surface of an inner cap sidewall. An outer cap is coupled with the inner cap. The outer cap includes an outer cap sidewall extending along at least a portion of the inner cap sidewall, and the outer cap sidewall is substantially cylindrical and uniformly smooth along at least an exterior face. The outer cap sidewall is sized and shaped to conceal the threading profile. An annular rim of the outer cap extends from an open end of the outer cap, and the annular rim is inwardly bent toward the inner cap. In another example, the annular rim extends over the inner cap sidewall and couples the outer cap with the inner cap with an interference fit.
