摘要: A deployable plug system comprises a handle assembly comprising a handle assembly conduit and a gas control valve configured to receive pressurized gas from a source of pressurized gas and to control flow of gas from the source of pressurized gas to the handle assembly conduit. The deployable plug system further comprises a bladder assembly comprising an inflatable bladder and a unitary check valve assembly configured to be coupled detachably to the handle assembly conduit to receive the flow of gas from the source of pressurized gas. The unitary check valve assembly comprises a one-way check valve that allows pressurized gas from the handle assembly conduit to enter the bladder when the check valve assembly is coupled detachably to the handle assembly conduit but that does not allow gas to leave the bladder. The unitary check valve assembly comprises a relief valve to enable pressurized gas to escape the bladder.

摘要: A method of modifying the moisture content of fuel elements used in making smoking articles. The method may include overwrapped fuel elements, smoking article components, and/or assembled smoking articles being subjected to drying by flowed ambient air. Unheated air is flowed over the fuel components to adjust and maintain a desired moisture content of the fuel components to a level that permits cutting of the fuel components without chipping or cracking. After the fuel components are cut into individual or two-up fuel elements and combined with smoking article components that may include up to an entire filtered or unfiltered smoking article, they may have more ambient air flowed over them to further reduce the moisture content to a desired level.

摘要: The present invention relates to flameless heating apparatus for food products. In particular, the present invention relates to an improved potentially exothermic mixture/blend for such heaters and to a meal package including foods, and heating apparatus. It is known to have food products such as rations for back-packer, adventurers and military forces which comprise hermetically sealed packages of food which can be heated without flame, on demand. Such food products and apparatus are collectively referred to as Meals-Ready-to-Eat (“MRE”). In addition to the above uses, the products can be used as emergency rations for shelters and for heating of non-food products. Currently MRE packages yield hydrogen as a by-product. The present invention seeks to improve the efficiency of the reaction. In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a composition operable to provide thermal output with no or an insignificant production of any flammable gasses.

摘要: There is disclosed a deployable plug system having an elongated handle assembly with a hollow conduit, a distal end with a conduit connector in fluid communication with the conduit and a hinge assembly having a handle mounting body, and a proximal end. A gas control valve is affixed to the handle assembly at the proximal end, is configured to receive pressurized gas from a source of pressurized gas, and has a valve trigger which selectively applies pressurized gas from the source of pressurized gas to the conduit. The deployable plug system also has a bladder assembly having a bladder mounting body removably connectable to the handle mounting body, a bladder attached to the bladder mounting body, a check valve assembly for allowing pressurized gas from the conduit to enter the bladder, and a check valve assembly connector that selectively connects the check valve assembly to the conduit connector.

摘要: The disclosure provides a method for selectively removing sulfites, for example bisulfite anionic species, from a beverage comprising free sulfite by providing an effective amount of a non-ionic, solid phase material and contacting the beverage with the solid phase material thereby sequestering the free sulfite on the non-ionic, solid phase material and providing a beverage having a reduced amount of free sulfite that otherwise maintains the general chemical composition with which it started. The disclosure further provides a device for selectively removing sulfite from a beverage comprising a container for receiving a beverage comprising free sulfite, said container enclosing a non-ionic, solid phase material capable of sequestering free sulfite, and a modular apparatus comprising a sulfite capture module and optionally a sediment filter module or an aeration module. Optionally, the non-ionic solid phase material is food-safe.
