Abstract:
A SIP Gateway (SIPGW) coupled to an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is disclosed that detects when a first party, using a Plain Ordinary Telephone Service (POTS) telephone coupled to the SIPGW and participating in a call, performs a hook flash action. In response, the SIPGW sends to the IMS a first SIP INFO message indicating that the POTS telephone has performed the hook flash. In response to a first SIP INFO message indicating that a first party has performed a first hook flash, an Application Server (AS) in an IMS places on hold a second party participating in the call. The AS may also cause a Media Server to receive information from the first party identifying a call feature to be provided, where the call feature is one of simple call hold, consultation call hold, attended call transfer and unattended call transfer.
Abstract:
A method for updating coefficients in a decision feedback equalizer (DFE). The DFE comprises an ISI canceller for canceling ISI from a plurality of first signals received from a channel. A first symbol comprising a set of the first signals is decoded to generate a decoded symbol. Then, a vector of error values computed as the difference between the decoded symbol, and the first symbol is obtained. According to the decoded symbol and the vector of the error values, a temp matrix is generated. Next, the values of the elements in every diagonal line of the temp matrix are averaged. Finally, the coefficients are updated by the Toeplitz Matrix.
Abstract:
A sequencing method and a bridging system for accessing a shared system resource capable of increasing transmission rate and reducing transmission error when a plurality of master controllers need to access the shared system resource. The sequencing method includes providing each transaction with a transaction identification value and a master identification value. In addition, each master controller is also assigned an access priority.
Abstract:
A method of sending a message to a mobile station using a common domain name includes the steps of receiving an email containing a subject and a body, combining the subject and the body into a first message, and determining if the email contains an attachment. If the email contains the attachment, the first message can be converted into a MMS message, and if not, a number of characters in the first message can be counted. If the number of characters is less than or equal to 160 characters, the first message can be converted to a SMS message. If the number is greater than 160 characters and less than or equal to 1000 characters, the first message can be converted to an EMS message. In addition, if the number of characters is greater than 1000 characters, the first message can be converted to the MMS message.
Abstract:
A method for implementing an equalizer of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) baseband receiver is provided. The OFDM baseband receiver includes a channel estimation and tracking module for estimating a channel impulse response of an input signal of the equalizer. A conjugate of the channel impulse response is first calculated. The input signal and the conjugate of the channel impulse response are then multiplied to generate a product signal. The product signal is then taken as the output signal of the equalizer without dividing the product signal by a channel state information, wherein the channel state information represents a square of an absolute value of the channel impulse response.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method for controlling the signal gain of a MultiBand Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) baseband receiver. The symbol boundary of a signal is first detected. Power of the signal is then measured according to the symbol boundary, so that a zero-padding section of the signal is not measured. A gain magnitude for amplifying the signal is then determined according to the power of the signal. The signal is then amplified according to the gain magnitude.

Abstract:
A method and an apparatus of compensating for a signal receiving error at a receiver in a packet-based communication system. In the invention, frequency offset estimation and DC offset estimation obtained in a current packet are re-used in a next packet if the receiver is an intended recipient of the current packet and the current packet is received correctly, verified by CRC-32 checking in the PHY layer and the DA checking in the MAC layer, respectively. Thereby, the overall receiver performance and stability can be improved from packet to packet and the estimation algorithm is simplified.
Abstract:
A wood tapping machine includes a cutting device formed on a machine body which has a tapping rod extending horizontally from the cutting device. A guiding path is formed on the machine body and has a toolrest which is disposed slidably thereon. The toolrest includes a base member and a cylindrical casing that has two arms extending therefrom and connected pivotally to the base member. A driving rod connects the base member and the cylindrical casing and maintains the cylindrical casing parallel to the tapping rod of the cutting device. The cylindrical casing can swing relative to the base member when the driving rod rotates about its axis. A main shaft is threadedly and rotatably disposed through the cylindrical casing. The main shaft has a chuck assembly at one end and a rotation wheel at another end thereof.
Abstract:
A method for locating subscriber data in an IP multimedia subsystem is provided. The method includes receiving a subscriber location request for a user agent. The subscriber location request comprises a subscriber identifier that is operable to identify the user agent using one of at least two formats. One of a plurality of Home Subscriber Servers is identified as associated with the user agent based on the subscriber location request.
