Abstract:
A method of handling a retransmission of a hybrid automatic repeat request scheme for a receiver in a communication system is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a first payload from a transmitter in the communication system, and feeding back a resource index to the transmitter, to indicate a size for a second payload in the next reception, when the receiver is unsuccessful to decode the first payload into a plurality of information bits, wherein the transmitter encodes the plurality of information bits into the first payload by using an error correction code.

A semiconductor package and related methods are described. In one embodiment, the package includes a die pad, multiple leads, a chip, a package body, and a protective layer. The die pad includes an upper sloped portion, a lower sloped portion, and a peripheral edge region defining a cavity with a cavity bottom. Each lead includes an upper sloped portion and a lower sloped portion. The chip is disposed on the cavity bottom and is coupled to the leads. The package body is formed over the chip and the leads, substantially fills the cavity, and substantially covers the upper sloped portions of the die pad and the leads. The lower sloped portions of the die pad and the leads at least partially extend outwardly from a lower surface of the package body. The protective layer substantially covers the lower sloped portion and the lower surface of at least one lead.
Abstract:
A method for auto updating application program suitable for a global position system (GPS) navigator is provided. The method comprises the following steps. First, a map-update short message is sent to the GPS navigator at a client terminal from a wireless station. Then, a map-downloading program inside the GPS navigator is woken up when the GPS navigator receives the map-update short message. Then, connecting to a map server through the map-update short message when a user decides to update the map. Accordingly, a newest electronic map can be downloaded from the wireless station.
Abstract:
A method for reducing the quantization effect of precoding operations utilizing a finite codebook in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) or multiple-input single-output (MISO) systems from a transmitter to a receiver is provided. First, downlink channel state information is obtained at the receiver side. A set of indices of precoding matrices or a set of precoding matrices within the finite codebook are determined according to the obtained downlink channel state information at the receiver side. The selected indices of precoding matrices and a set of scalar coefficients are transmitted from the receiver to the transmitter. Thereafter, a refined precoding matrix is generated based on the set of indices of precoding matrices and the one or more scalar coefficients at the transmitter side. The refined precoding matrix is applied for transmission between the transmitter and the receiver.
Abstract:
A ring binder mechanism includes an elongate plate having a longitudinal axis. Hinge plates are supported by the plate for pivoting relative to the elongate plate. Ring members are mounted on the hinge plates and moveable between a closed position and an open position. A control structure is supported by the elongate plate and controllably pivots the hinge plates to move the ring members between the closed and open positions. The control structure has a travel bar connected to the hinge plates for moving the hinge plates between the closed and open positions. A spring biases the travel bar toward the closed position.
Abstract:
A storage switch in accordance with an embodiment of the invention is a highly scalable switch that allows the creation of a SAN that is easy to deploy and that can be centrally managed. Moreover, such a storage switch also allows the deployment of a global infrastructure, allowing the resources of the SAN, such as storage devices, to essentially be positioned anywhere on the globe. Further, such a storage switch allows a multi-protocol SAN, e.g., one that includes both iSCSI or Fibre Channel, and processes data packets at “wire speed.” To further enable wire-speed processing, a switch in accordance with the invention has “intelligence” distributed to each of its linecards, through which it classifies packets into data and control packets, it performs virtualization functions, and it performs protocol translation functions. A switch in accordance with the invention further performs serverless storage services such as mirroring, snapshot, and replication.
Abstract:
A ring binder has housing including a central portion and lateral sides. Hinge plates are held between the lateral sides of the housing. Each of multiple rings includes at least one ring member mounted for movement with the hinge plates between closed and open positions. The mechanism has an actuator mounted for pivotal movement relative to the housing and engageable with the hinge plates for opening rings. In one embodiment, the housing defines a stop engaged by the actuator upon arrival of the actuator at a terminal position when the actuator has opened the rings. The engagement between the surface of the actuator and the stop limits pivoting movement of the actuator relative to the housing in the opening direction beyond the terminal position. In another embodiment, the actuator is constructed for quicker response of the binder to movement of the actuator to open the rings.
