Abstract:
The invention relates to an adaptation of a level of an air suspension element of a vehicle from a starting level to a desired level. Usually, such adaptation is done by opening a control valve connecting an air container with the air suspension element for an opening interval. According to the invention, a control unit determines an estimate for a future point in time for a suitable closing time of the valve. The estimate is determined considering a desired future level, actual loading conditions of the vehicle and an actual pressure level of the air container.
Abstract:
A thrust stopper for use in a cylinder head arrangement of an internal combustion engine to retain a camshaft in a desired orientation while prevent axial movement and clatter is disclosed.
Abstract:
A device for adjusting the phase angle of a camshaft of an internal combustion engine with a drive gear for driving a camshaft accommodated in a coaxial arrangement relative to the camshaft and with an electric motor communicating with the camshaft via a Harmonic Drive having a roller bearing with an elliptical inner ring, an externally toothed, flexible gear arranged on said roller bearing and a rigid, internally toothed gear engaging the externally toothed gear. A simple and compact structure is achieved by providing the electric motor with a housing which is rigidly connected to the drive gear and which is at least partially arranged therein and by also providing the electric motor with a rotor configured as a disk rotor accommodated in a slot between two housing halves of the electric motor.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cooling water pump for an internal combustion engine with a housing provided with a bearing designed to support a pump shaft and with a sealing element devised to seal the bearing against a working area containing the cooling agent as well as with a leakage chamber receiving the cooling agent that oozes through the sealing element, wherein the leakage chamber is arranged in a recess of the housing and is provided with an opening to the outside, said opening being partially closed by a locking device. A particularly simple way of production is achieved by having the opening closed by a foil, preferably by a metal foil, deposited on a flange facing which is flush with a front surface of the housing.
Abstract:
A coolant pump, in particular for use in internal combustion engines, includes a pump shaft carrying an impeller with substantially axial intake and radial discharge, and a casing provided with at least one roller bearing supporting the pump shaft, and a pulley for driving the pump. A particularly compact design is obtained by firmly connecting the inner race of the roller bearing to the casing, and by attaching the outer race of the roller bearing to the pulley.
Abstract:
A device for adjusting the phase angle of a camshaft of an internal combustion engine includes an adjusting mechanism which is operated by an electric motor, the latter being rigidly connected to the camshaft or the camshaft drive gear. Reliable adjustment is obtained in a simple manner by providing the adjusting mechanism as a planetary gear set.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pressure control valve for regulating the oil pressure in an oil supply system preferably of an internal combustion engine, with a first working chamber which is in connection with an oil line, with a second working chamber which is in connection with an oil supply line, and with a control slide valve which is substantially movable by the oil pressure in the first working chamber in order to release a throttling aperture on exceeding a first predetermined oil pressure through which oil is released from the second working chamber to a recirculation system. A constructional simplification is achieved in such a way that the control slide valve is provided with a control element which is movable by the oil pressure in the second working chamber relative to a main body of the control slide valve and which on exceeding a second predetermined oil pressure in the second working chamber will release the throttling opening through which oil from the second working chamber is released to the recirculation system.
Abstract:
An air processing device for a utility vehicle includes a compressor and two air dryer cartridges. The air dryer cartridges are located in two parallel paths. A control unit controls a regeneration of one of said air dryer cartridges independent from a load phase of the other of said air dryer cartridges.
Abstract:
A compressed air processing system for motor vehicles includes a pressure control unit, an air dryer, a multi-circuit protection valve and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit controls the valves of the pressure control unit, the valves of the air dryer, the valves of the multi-circuit protection valve and the valves of an air suspension system of the motor vehicle.
Abstract:
A compressed air processing apparatus includes a pressure controller, an air dryer, a multi-circuit protection valve and an electronic control unit. A switching valve is designed and arranged to supply compressed air to an air suspension system and to deaerate the air suspension system. The electronic control unit is designed and arranged to control the pressure controller, the air dryer and the multi-circuit protection valve. The electronic control unit is designed and arranged to also control the switching valve of the air suspension system.
